Just realized that all 4 of the BT variants will be at the DC event so it looks like I am definitely passing on the box. I don't know why I didn't notice or realize that a week ago, ha. More money to spend on other beers now.

Really looking forward to Pina Colada and Mocha Almond BTs.

What beers included with the membership should still be coming this year for Hoarders?

Wonder if we’ll get the Brycescotti? Wasn’t listed for hoarders but was for reserve, so one would assume we’d get it

I'm sure we'll at least get allocations. I did think that was weird that it showed RS only included.

I know spicy beers aren't for everyone, but this sounds so good with the sugar and viscosity of BT, plus some fruitiness and acidity from the pineapple (which works better in dark beers than I originally expected).

I would think most open minded people would enjoy a 375ml serving once, although understood that you may not want 3b of it.

So I just tried Rue’d Attitude and here are my notes. The base tastes like Icky Thump, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The coffee comes through strong, as stated by others. The vanilla is present, but the cherry flavor gets lost in the shuffle. I remember Rue d Floyd having a distinctive red hue in the head and this beer does not have the same intensity of red. Good beer, but not as balanced.

I'm certainly not saying I'm not looking forward to it. I definitely bought a box! But there were many other ways they could have gone and I do think something so...polarizing was an interesting choice that I'm not sure why they made. I am sincerely hoping it's the best bottle of the bunch and that my concerns were unfounded.

I got you, yeah it might have made sense to make this a standalone and put something more "common palate" in the box. But hell yeah I bought in 2min after allocation and will probably buy another if I get another crack at it.

I wish the reg BT was a 375ml too, though I'll probably buy a few of each format eventually. I'd have bought 12x 375ml of reg BT if that was an option, seriously. I loved RW BT (and CCR also but slightly less) but I'm not sure if it's just because I maxed them and love the 375ml. I usually do 1/3, champagne stop, then finish it within 48hrs. I swear they taste better the second time you open it.

I had a Rue pour at the TR and concurred with everything I had read which was very coffee forward and a little bit of cherry in the background. Delicious though. But opened a bottle tonight and while first sip was strong coffee, within 10 minutes cherry has become very present with some vanilla. Vanilla could be stronger. Not as balanced as the original but still pretty dang tasty. Wondering how many tasting notes were from tap vs bottle?

I was pleasantly surprised to get a knock at the door for a delivery of the BT box today. I wasn’t expecting it since I didn’t get an email other than the delivery confirmation after the fact.
Opened the Spicy Island tonight since it was the one I was least sure of. Split it with a friend... I noticed the sweetness of the pineapple most, he noticed the spice. I won’t have any problem drinking the others as the spice was more muted than I expected. A good beer, not spectacular.

I too was surprised to see my BT box today and threw the Spicy Island into the fridge as I, with everybody else, was afraid of this one. I am not a huge spicy beer fan, but was pleasantly surprised with this one.
The nose is all pineapple, no spice whatsoever on it. Cold, I get all sweetness from the pineapple and only a subtle hint of spice (if I would call it that) at the very end. It is not overloaded with habaneros at al. As it warms there a hint more spice, but it is muted again by the sweet of the pineapple. I think they added the correct amounts of habaneros to keep this from getting overloaded.

I will have no problem enjoying the other three and if this is the worst of the box, than I would call it a nice tenth anniversary gift (if you can call it a gift) to society members.

Based on what I’ve read here, I’d still be bummed the box included this beer. Pineapple BT doesn’t sound appealing.

Don't see why you're basing disappointment if you stated you've tried it.

I tried the version that was made in a pin for the party last year. Very different than what ends up making it into a bottle.

Would have been a waaaaay more badass name for the beer.
