Other Half (2019)

Showed up at 11:45 and got one of the last wristbands...which did not guarantee the Spons. Those sold out before noon with maybe 50 people on line. Got what I came for with De Garde...just wish I didn’t brush my teeth right before coming...

 

DDH Hop Showers w/ Galaxy is interesting, not quite what I expected as it doesn't have that in your face Galaxy flavor that is so distinct. Really good stuff though, probably my second favorite variant besides the Riwaka one.

 

Watching King of the Hill and thinking about a modern episode where Hank, Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer are lining up at OH

 

There was an episode where Hank and his crew drove to Mexico to buy Alamo beer because there was a shortage in the US. That's not much different than driving several hours to buy OH. The Mexico beer was contaminated, but who's counting.

Stoked for these. I really enjoyed them the last time around.

 

They must have ordered way too much milk sugar and lactose. There is no reason these stouts should have milk sugar. The vanilla and coffee would have been more than enough. Stouts shouldn’t be “creamy”! Argh! Rant not over.

 

IIRC the Double Sunset “series” have all had lactose.

Wake me up when they drop some BA batter water.

 

For relatively straight forward stouts- no cookies or other junk food added- my notes from the last release suggest these fall on the sweetness scale somewhere around chocolate milk. If someone tries either of these do let us know if they're more Short Dark & Wired or more pastry bomb.

@NewmansOwn but you’re the catalyst for both elation and pitchfork raising all at the same time. Take pride in what you do.

 

Just wanna know how this batch of Space Daydream is. Last batch had....issues. But when that beer is on, ohhh lactose baby it is on.

 

Plus, there are pretty good odds these beers will make their way to BK eventually.

I now feel validated for not picking up the stout from Roch. And can we please get a Roch Showers in the future? LOL

Instead I picked up hop showers w/ galaxy (hopefully + hop showers points...lol).

Although now I regret passing on SGE considering the high regard I have for @afroskully recommendations.

 

Any insiders have any info on what happened to the PB short dark cans from last week’s IG post????
