Was crowded but no waits for pours. Blueberry, Vietnamese coffee and hoarders slushee were my faves. Solid event but maybe a little tight for our larger brethren.

This was a major step back from previous BT celebrations in terms of setup/location (NOT BEER). The beer was fine - although needed more non-BT options - but that tent was in no way an improvement. Too many people, lack of seating, lack of "wow factor", and warm.

2nd session was great, plenty of tables available, awesome beer list. What else could I ask for. Thank you for this amazing event! Double Barrel BT w/ Vanilla and Spicy Island took the gold for me and others.

My favorite of the night was the Coconut Curry BT.

Last night's fave was BT Painkiller, no doubt. And the dubba barrel Madagascar Vanilla BT was masterfully blended - so smooth. Also enjoyed Mostra BT and Spicy Island. Only pour that fell short was Almondine BT, which was a little harsh/bitter, but I did try it at the end of the session when my tastebuds were on BT overload.

The nibbles were fine and the tent could've been bigger, but being the evening session, there were no problems with overcrowding. Amazingly enough for a beer fest featuring so many high ABV beers, only saw one guy led out by security.

    Top notch event.

    I'm in this.

Great beers (madagascar/double barrel/blueberry), need bigger tent, or separate the beer lines from a drinking/seating area because so crowded: Also

Just got my hands on my boxes of beer from the last 6 months. I totally forgot that I got the Sucre Super Set, which was a nice surprise. But, it made me think about how much I wished they did something like that again, it was great and most variants are top tier.

They don't even need 10 different options... Even doing a release with like three barrel variants would be interesting.

On one hand, the 12 bottle 375ml box format feels like it would work well for this... Except you'd need to produce equal volume of each barrel variant which I bet is very tough.

Ahhhh... back to work after a BT celebration weekend.

Although I've been a long-time BT fan, this was actually my first BT release party. We attended the first session as we were also attending the brunch on Sunday and felt 11PM would be a little late. My take on both events:

BT Release party (first session): The beers were GREAT (duh!!) My favorites were the Painkiller Slushies, the Banana Pudding and the Blueberry Pancake. Also really enjoyed the Grand Reserve and the Spicy Island but got no spice whatsoever. May be a different story when I crack one of the bottles from my box.
The food was very good *when I could get it*. Due to the number of people attending the food trays were pretty much emptied by the time the servers got 20 feet into the tent. I was able to snag one of the pork sliders while in the Speakeasy. I did not get an opportunity to try all of the wonderful-sounding appetizers.
As others have mentioned the first session was very crowded. The Speakeasy was a little less crowded but there was a severe lack of seating in both areas. Next year I will probably go for the second session and also not bother dressing up as standing around for 2-1/2 hours straight in dress shoes was a real pain (literally!)

The brunch at Terreux the following day was fantastic. Plenty of seating for everyone, plenty of good food and that Cereal BT!! Yuuumm!! Also really enjoyed the cold brew and the coffee affogatos. Unexpected but really good.

    Hi James,

I didn't write down your BA handle, so I hope I have the right person

Thank you again for the glass, that was very generous of you.

Hope you can make it to more events. The anniversary party is a good one if you can make it.

    Thanks,
    John

Thanks for the update. Wanted badly to make this but had a nieces bday party next day (with travel) and thought it woouldn't be the best idea. How was the crowd? Where there enough seating options? Hey did anybody dress up in the '20s theme? Gotta plan for next year!

Chocolate Reign is damn good and you're definitely right with the barrel notes that were imparted on it. I had my bottle at a huge bottle share before RAR Dank Day and it was a hit. Most received comments: 1 - "21% are you trying to kill me?" 2 - "It's boozy yet somehow covers it's true booziness" 3 - "It's like a alcoholic candy bar"

Finally got through all four of the BT10 box variants and I'm really impressed by all of them. Blueberry pancake was my favorite. Just so much depth and flavor. Second was Pistachio Vanilla. Never had a beer with pistachio in it before and I assume that's what added a level of creaminess to it. Plus the vanilla wasn't overpowering. Spicy Island was a little Pineapple heavy and didn't have as much depth. But it tasted great, so I would put that third. I wanted rank Samoa higher. It had both depth and balance and I had several straight up Mounds candy bar moments. But it was way hot, IMHO. I just couldn't get past the ethanol kick in the middle. Didn't hate it and I hope it ages well.

The venue was able to handle seating for ~100 or standing room for ~400. There was ~200 attendees. At no point did it feel crowded to me.

The most people I saw in line for any pour was 3-4 people at most. The line to get in took maybe 10 minutes as we showed up right at go time and seemingly everyone else was already lined up in advance.

There were more people dressed up than I thought there would be.

Any members going to be at the tap room want to hook up a Blueberry Pancake pour? I’ll be wearing a red T and a Dodgers cap
