Mystery beer!

Immediately surprised by the color considering it says VERY high abv...

Nose is sweet and very lightly fruity. Confused still lol. Not much malt to speak of.

First sip is bigtime in your face. Started to think some kind of American strong ale with fruit. Cant put my finger on the fruit. It's not citrusy but not red berry either. Alcohol is very present going down. Cant be a saison or any kind of Belgian strong pale, yeast character isnt there.

I'm pretty stumped at the style here. Whatever it is, excellent choice for a blind beer from @CanConPhilly for sure.



Lmao what a wicked curveball. I think I've had 2 braggots ever and never one with fruit. The non malt sweetness was definitely the honey and maybe the blueberries have faded a touch over time (thing had a best by date of 2020 and I know that theres no way this beer only has a 1 year shelf life lol).

I’d say you came very close given how esoteric the style is! Guessing 2018 bottling but can’t exactly remember now.

I lied earlier when I said two identical boxes were going out. I had a Sand City casualty and replaced it with a Grimm. I dont know who got what. Both boxes going out USPS.

 

Enjoying, the mystery beer has kicked my ass before, but that was when they had the ABV miss labeled at 8%.

 

This just in... @Snrubnivek is ACTUALLY trying to kill me.

Once I catch my breath from bringing these boxes in I will unpack and post a detailed list of contents. If I'm not back in a few hours send help.
