I have to say that a barrel aged imperial stout on an empty stomach is a good painkiller. I made a good decision.

 

just waiting on the last two to be picked up now. One of them will not be invited back. They watched a dogs journey and she WAILED practically the whole time. Other than that, a good time was had by all!

 

Damn, still there. You know the parents don't want them back.

I feel bad for the guy that ends up with her one day!

 

What painkiller am I drinking now? Utopias. Might even numb the pain of watching the Jets today. Nah, nothing can accomplish that.

That is quite the painkiller! I’ll never buy a, uh, full chalice, but if I ever see a small pour somewhere I’m determined to try it.

 

Got it as a 50th Birthday present from a friend. If you ever find yourself on Long Island there is a pour waiting for you.

@LloydDobler sent me a second box, with another mystery beer. I wanted to dig into the goodies, and my wife is a rule follower, so mystery beer first.



Pours a dark berry color. Nose is complicated, not a traditional berry sour, IMO. First sip is interesting, more of a farmhouse/saison type than I was expecting. Can't pinpoint the fruit, not raspberries or strawberries. I'm leaning towards blueberries, but not completely sold on that. I suck at these blind tastings.......

Many moons ago when I was in the middle of my wicked long dry spell as a single person (well, as far as introducing them to family lol). I was at a younger cousin's wedding and talking to my grandmother and a few of her older friends and I had just finished a week at the outer banks and was basically detoxing when she decided to ask when we were going to have "one of these for me since I was the eldest grandchild."

I said I hadn't met my future ex wife yet but when I did I'd let her know. She didn't think that was funny at all but her friends sure enjoyed it.

That Humanoid Tree Blood - dude, I'm so excited. Brian knows how much I love peach - killed it with this bottle. I'm drinking the Ghost Sherbet right now and it is out of this fucking world - So much berry, so smooth and rich, excellent body, sweet and tart. Fincredible.
