Honey Wheat - 2019 Reserve by Huff Brewing (Bellville, TX) - after it warms a bit a warming funkiness kicks in that nicely offsets the sweetness of the honey. A bit remote, expect dirt roads, but this is a brewery worth a visit if you are in this part of Texas on a Friday night!

he’s a New Orleans guy who played with dr.john and harry belafonte, moved to nyc in the early 80s and played with Sco and folks like Dave Valentin, the Latin Jazz flautist. He moved back to New Orleans post Katrina.

On a beer note this HV/Veil collab is disappointing, super acidic, some fruit notes but lacking that balancing creaminess and layers of flavor. Reflux bomb.

Extraordinarily taxing day today at work. Pucked this little local can up. I've never had anything from Sebago Brewing before, but the hop bill caught my eye. Lemondrop, Strata, Amarillo, Simcoe, and Citra. I'm a sucker for interesting hops. I could live without the Simcoe and Amarillo, but all-in-all, it's an interesting little IPA.

Dude, where you been? Nice to see you post.

Limited experience with Strata, but not loving it so far.

    16 oz. can.
    Canned 10/31/19.
Moderate pour yields a 5/4 inch white head over a murky golden body with sticky lacing. Head dissipates down to a ring and a couple islets in a few minutes, but comes back nicely with a few swirls. Nose of tropical fruit and citrus with a bit of floral/herbal aromas as well. Taste mirrors nose nicely with the tropical fruit and citrus lasting all the way to a gentle bitter finish of slight citrus pith. Nice, semi-soft feel and overall, a solid DIPA from Charlton, MA. Cheers to Rob for the hookup!!

    C&P from NBS.

This beer was selected for me by @bbtkd, since he knows how much I love the band Dark Funeral, and the fact that I was born in Minneapolis, MN. I will return to MSP for NFL wildcard weekend.
