Entering the zipcode for some reason didn't do anything (still got an error saying I needed city/st), so I had to click on the city/state button which sent me to a different page entirely. Just seemed odd that the box was there for name/address/zip etc. but nothing to enter the city/state, just a button? Maybe it was just my outdated cpu though or even user error.

I know this will probably never be read, but oh well.

    Dear 3 Floyds:

After dealing with the insanity of trying to achieve a Dark Lord Day ticket, I am heartbroken with the failure of trying to reach a dream of mine, and failing.

I am sure that this has been a complaint numerous times. No one likes to be shut out of an event that they have their hearts and minds set on, and I am sure that the tragedy will continue for beer lovers for years. Us beer lovers will have to deal with people scalping tickets for the sheer purpose of price gouging for profit instead of coming to celebrate our love for all that beer can be. As a short term Chicago resident (finishing up my degree), I do not now know when I will ever be able to attempt to enjoy your (rumor has it) wonderful event that celebrates your brewing prowess and the community that it resides in.

I sincerely hope that something manages to change in the process of Dark Lord being released. We all are aware of how difficult brewing such an extreme and highly-crafted brew is, but one day of this beer being released is saddening. I hope that a change in the brewing and aging schedule of Dark Lord can be adjusted to fit demand one day, and perhaps we can have two Dark Lord days, or even just a larger distribution.

That being said, I fully appreciate all of the rest of the wonderful beer that you have given us, whether it be Dark Lord, Zombie Dust, Robert the Bruce, Dreadnaught, or any number of the other top-notch beers that we have. I understand that the capacity to be able to keep producing these wonderful beers, as well as something as prestigious and well-renowned as Dark Lord, can be difficult to juggle. So, I wish furthermore to implore you to expand.

I am sure that expansion is on your list of things to address. Maybe you all have a plan that I am not aware of. I would not presume to tell you how to run your business, but this is just a desperate plea from a huge fan. For all BA members who agree with this post and my sad, desperate kicked puppy musings, I hope you will reply to this post, or perhaps even re-send it to the brewery itself. In fact, I would like to propose something.

I pledge, for a minimum period of one month, to buy only 3 Floyds beer in my local Chicago area. This is not a drastic action by any stretch of the imagination, but it is something that I wish to do to show my continued support for such a wonderful brewery, even though there are so many other fantastic and talented brewers around the area. I am only one poor (in the economic sense) student, but I hope that others will join me for a 3 Floyds exclusive beer drinking month (beginning April 1- May 1) to show support through the Dark Lord frustration and sadness for those who miss out, and perhaps show a significant enough blip in the increase of sales to show them that the customers are loyal even in the face of disappointment, and hope desperately for an expansion.

I hope one day I get to experience Dark Lord, in any variety or any capacity. Please keep up the good work, and I hope that one day Dark Lord will be a phenomenon, but a more accessible one.

    Cheers everyone.

Damn, you're right, I meant Dreadnaught. I have video games on the mind (Final Fantasy Dreadnaught Leviathan). Will change, thanks for catching that for me!

Cool! I had heard they were expanding the pub, just got facebook for the first time a few days ago, haven't gotten around to doing much on it. Any word if they are increasing their brewing capacity outside of just the tap list? How much of a volume increase?

...And just found the 30000 bbl. Hoping for more Dark Lord!

I believe they just got IN to change the law to allow them to produce up to 30,000bbl(?), so somewhere around there.

Sadly, demand for Dark Lord will most likely always be higher than supply.

I'm a sucker for dramatic effect, being a fiction writer lol.

That being said, I haven't been in the big beer game long. I'm young, so I haven't been around long enough to witness crazy/not crazy, but selling out in minutes seems bizarre to me I guess. As far as dreams... I would like to go to every major beer release (Hunahpu, Dark Lord, Founders, Pliny The Younger) before I kick the bucket, but there is still plenty of time.

Maybe the message sounded a bit extreme. I guess that depends on perception. And I am always willing to trade if anyone finds anything, just don't have room for a cellar at the moment to entice a lot of people. The general idea was trying to make something positive out of something negative, and trying to be proactive. As all I can do is vote with my dollars, to propose seeing more Dark Lord, and hopefully more people can enjoy it as craft beer becomes more of a widespread thing.

I'm sorry for everyone who failed to get Dark Lord Day Tix (I didn't get them either). I wish FFF would go to some kind of random lottery system so everyone has the same probability of getting one. Not only does my poor proximity to the brewery keep me from obtaining that beer, now my crappy internet service is hurting me too.

I'm sure we'll get to try that beer one day, either through a trade or because we manage to get tix (one thing I will NOT do is buy a bottle from some jerkass on ebay). At any rate, when DLD comes around, I will console myself by driving to the bottle shop and indulging in a half dozen bottles of the best damn beers I can find. I encourage everyone else in my situation to do the same.

Very true. I just hope one day, anticipation and production can run together, leg in leg like a beautiful, fair three-footed race.

    Or something like that.

was just pointing it out. If you wanted to go so badly that you wrote them a book then a 100$ ticket doesn't seem so bad.
