My mug came in, drinking a Blackberry Vanilla swirl 5% Berliner Weisse. Pours a pinkish purple with a finger off white head with with pinkish hews, that leaves thin streaks of lace and settles rather quickly. 4.25

Smell is blackberry, vanilla, and some tangerine. 4

Taste follows blackberry and vanilla dominate, some tart black cherry and orange. 4

Mouthfeel is about medium with plenty of prickly carbonation, and drinks bigger in flavor for sure and easy drinking and balanced not overly sour. 4.25

Overall not a style I normally love, but well made and very tasty. 4

 

Platform - Tricarastout (16oz can).. it's an "Imperial Sweet Stout".. cheers!

Starting heavy today. @zid. reviewed this on Sunday and I have to agree, it seems a little more heavy handed than regular KBS. Still enjoyable but seems a little out of balance.

The 3 day cold snap here (daytime highs in the 50s) is over...a sunny 69 with my lunch beer on the patio - SN’s 40th Anniversary “Hoppy Anniversary”:



Pours a deep gold with excellent clarity; two fingers of rocky white foam; ok cap retention; solid ring; medium heavy lacing turns sudsy as liquid is consumed. Pine and lemongrass nose. Bitter Myers lemons on entry; pine lemongrass; orange rind; lite malt base. Medium lite body, moderate minus carbonation; no astringency; lite sticky resin feel. Overall an enjoyable WC style IPA; lite bitter hops linger; well balanced and tasty; glad I bought the six pack.
