Sand City Winterzeit bock. Starts off more like a standard issue dunkel - nice, but lacking in body and complexity. As it warms a somewhat fuller character emerges, bringing it up a notch, though not to import levels.

 

Lots to love from that scene for sure

I'm drinking a Bells Two Hearted Ale, it's pretty damn good!

 

Pretty sure the beers you see in these WBAYDN threads are going to be solid for the most part. A LOT of experienced drinkers up in this bitch.

No beer right now. Had a few Rye Whiskies and then some good red wine.

Sitting w the missus after dinner for a bit and she mentioned she was going to Vinnies tomorrow. She has for several yrs. now done volunteer work there - St. Vincent DePaul, sorting, pricing etc.

So this thought/question is for @vabeerguy aka Mike who I hope is a friend.The missus has her hands full taking care of our dog and more so taking care of me. My concern was that when she goes to Vinnies tomorrow she is going to make a donation, me, or me and the dog.

Are there signs I should look for and if I perceive them how do I avoid this ?? Help ??

Went down to the local grocery to get some chicken thighs for some street tacos tonight and saw this. Haven't had one in almost two years. Same as it ever was... delicious.

 

And....because I'm kinda bad at taking directions....lil' past 01/01/2020 but drinking pretty good....

 

Ive been lucky enough to drink some great beers lately but this shit is really good.

 

Night cap - BBA World Wide Stout (2019):



Poured at 56 degrees; fast fizzy cola brown head; dark brown to black with ruby see through; no cap retention, no ring; micro dots of lace and thick legs on swirl. Bourbon, dark fruits and roast malt; boozy exhale; roast coffee as liquid warms. Taste follows nose; bourbon, sweet plums, bittersweet dark chocolate; toffee, caramel, coffee, oak middle; boozy finish. Medium full body; slick feel; face flushing warmth; alcohol bite on tongue. Overall, layers of whiskey, chocolate and char; nice interplay between malt and barrel notes, but boozy hot; not for the faint of heart.
