And I'm wrong again. Oh well. I'm just not a fan of this beer, give me the regular lager back please.

Keith, have you tried Yards Loyal Lager yet?

    Cheers!

I will probably try this at least once, for science. Summer Catch was a nice witbier they distributed last year, but White sounds like it will be quite different.

I look forward to trying Cape May White.

I have homebrewed a number of wit beers using the Hoegaarden Wit yeast strain and while it does produce a tasty beer this strain can be fickle at times.

Cheers to Brian and the Cape May team for taking the time to 'wrangle' that yeast!

Sounds like they spent quite a bit of time playing around with it. I’m going looking for it after work today!

Yes they did! They did a great job developing this beer.

A Belgian Wit is a challenging beer style since it is basically a 'subtle' beer but there are indeed a number of flavor aspects which are best at low levels. The 'trick' is getting all of those subtle flavors to be in balance with each other. The flavors from the Wit yeast (esters, phenols) and the flavors from the spicing.

One of the tricks I used when I homebrew this beer is I 'dry spice' with a little bit of freshly crushed coriander and dried Valencia orange peel. This provided a subtle, but notable, citrus aspect to the finished beer which I think nicely complements the other existing subtle flavors of this beer style.
Please let me know what you think of it.

    Cheers!

I just spotted Cape May witbier @ ShopRite in Cherry Hill. I didn’t buy any, as I had just bought a bunch of beer at Nashaminy Creek. I’ll definitely check it out next week.

@JackHorzempa i have not. Soon. Still, nothing beat getting CML at the source in Cape May. Wonderful.

Cape May White is an excellent beer. Yesterday I picked up a 6pk at my local shop, which has the full Cape May lineup.

Nicely balanced. It's a crusher for sure, but with plenty of spice/flavor to keep me interested.

I haven't had their other witbier Summer Catch in 2 years. But from what I remember, White dials down the bitterness and spice level, which makes for a more subtle beer. A good thing IMO.

Looks like it's available for delivery too if you live in Cape May, Atlantic, or Cumberland counties.

I'm hoping to get down there in July. Don't want to have to cancel our trip.

Finally had the White about 2 weeks ago. It’s good but I got this yesterday and it’s even better. Cheers!

Best CMBC beer is still Coastal Evacuation with Orange Crushin’ It and Honey Porter as runner ups.

How would you compare to Seaquench if you've had it?
