    We are tasting Saisons today and tomorrow, all are welcome!!!

    First pour for me, a 375 ml (12.7 oz) La Vermontoise, the #555th ranked Belgian Saison on Beer Advocate. This is a collaboration brew from Brasserie de Blaugies and Hill Farmstead, no date / year on the bottle or cork. Most collaborations are one offs, but this offering continues to be produced by Brasserie de Blaugies.

    Appearance: Multiple pours required into a large tulip due to the generous thick bubbly head which left clumpy rich lacing. Tan orange slightly murky pour. Nominal brown settlement concentrated at the bottom toward the end of the pour. 3.75

    Aroma:     Very funky Earth grassy aroma. Belgian yeast stands out, backed by cloves, pepper and apple. Spicy and bold, very nice. 4.25

    Taste:     Consistent with the aroma though more subdued. Apple, pepper and funky yeast lead, backed by malt, grass and honey. 3.75

    Mouthfeel:     Medium crisp body, full fizzy carbonation lasts throughout the pour. Lightly tart and dry, faint bitterness, clean finish. 4.0

    Overall:     Well executed Saison. 4.0

    Going local for the next two, starting with the great brewers at Off Color Brewing and their Apex Predator offering. Wish it was with Anna Karina. Enjoying the incredibly awesome 66 degree day in Chicago.


    Many sad losses this week indeed.

    Never noticed but this is a Premium Malt Lager.
    That's a good thing.

    Cellarmaker Permanent Daylight, a 6.8% IPA with Nelson, Citra and Centennial. Canned yesterday. Super-fresh Cellarmaker is a thing of beauty, and this is no exception. Better than previous batches. Super pineapple/papaya(?) and dank.

    A perfect complement to my adventures in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

    Store manager in an appliance store. We have a lot of B2B sales, and they keep going no matter what. But the regular store sales are also going very well.

    I tried signing up for the Paycheck Protection Program today, that's a nightmare as expected. Now I shall have a drink and chill.
