    I haven’t seen it.

Saw this today at my local HEB in Austin. I had already packed my cart full of Live Oak Pre-War Pils so I passed. Somehow the lack of availability elsewhere makes me regret I didn't grab a six. No offense to those who can't find it.

I finished my 2nd sixer today, and I will keep buying it as long as it's available. It's a great "drinking" beer.

I’m pretty sure I’m not getting this around where I live and that sucks.

    Snagged 3 cans last week.

I like it. Canned on January 27th, but still quite hoppy.

I've only had one can, so more analysis is needed. I felt the malt backbone was still quite prominent despite the aggressive hop profile. Which jives with my experiences with Sierra Nevada hop forward brews like Celebration, and of course Bitburger Pils.

    I like the can too.

I would be interested in hearing what you think of this new beer from Live Oak. Not too many breweries that produce Classic American Pilsners.

    Cheers!

As near as I can tell, there's some problem with the distributor who brings in SN stuff. I stopped off at John's Market (here in PDX) a couple weeks ago to ask about this beer, and they were completely unfamiliar with it. They contacted the sales rep on the spot, and he advised that the beer wasn't currently available. The folks at John's said I should call or come by periodically, as they were optimistic they would get some at some point, but so far nothing. I've checked other places around town as well (Imperial Bottle Shop, Belmont Station, Beer Mongers, etc.), and so far no luck.

The beer is available up in Washington, so I suppose you might be able to find some over in Vancouver (depending upon where you live in Oregon). Just seems odd that a SN product is readily available in Washington, but we aren't able to get it here. We seem to be getting plenty of everything else made by SN, so this is pretty puzzling.

This finally came to MN two days ago. Total Wine got a whopping single case of it, so my 6-pack was a 1/4 of their allotment. WTF?

    By the way, it's delicious.

Its not coming in through the SN distributor - its imported and distributed through the Bitburger chain.

Not to mention it's not *made* by SN.

Which makes the fact that we’re not receiving in the NYC metro area even more confusing. I have no problem getting Bitburger half-liter cans at all.

Thanks. My mistake. I was under the impression it was being handled by the SN distribution system here in the states.

Even so... We also get plenty of Bitburger stuff here in Oregon and PDX as well.

Perhaps the Bitburger rep might know better about when to expect it though?

    @SierraTerence

Hi! You have any insight? Do you know if there was limited allotment to the US and/or certain regions? Or is it just slow to go out and will be more available in the weeks to come?

I know you guys didn't brew or distribute, and maybe aren't allowed to comment. But it did have SN's creative input, ingredients added, and most of all, your brand name on it.

Everyone just wants to try. BTW, I tried it yesterday and it is outstanding.

Agreed. Though I would assume the SN rep would have passed that information along to the retail store (that they should contact the Bitburger rep).

From a customer standpoint, I feel as if there's only so much one can do. I asked about the beer in question, and based on what I told the beer guy at John's, he also assumed that this was something that was being handled by SN. He was pleasant and courteous with me, but it was apparent that he didn't feel this was a huge priority for his store. The place has a huge selection (considerably larger than your typical BevMo or Total Wine), and my impression was that he felt I should just try to go find something else that I might like (which of course is what I did). My guess is he didn't give another thought to the beer once I left the store (and so likely didn't follow-up on his earlier call to SN)..

I don't know... PDX is a pretty serious craft beer city and there are a lot of outstanding beer stores in town. So I'm just a bit surprised that Bitburger isn't taking a more active interest in distributing the beer here, as it would almost certain sell.

Sometimes is just comes down to how conscientious the individual sales people are?

In the past I tried getting certain beers by 'pinging' the retailer owners/managers. On multiple occasions they did not receive call backs from their suppliers. I was then encouraged to contact the Wholesale Distributor folks and have have many times sent them polite e-mails informing them I am interested in purchasing beer x and if they could tell me which local retailers had it available for sale. While I have done this a half-dozen times (or so) I have never, ever had a Wholesale Distributor reply to me. They apparently are unconcerned about helping an end customer find a beer they want to buy.

I have personally stopped contacting Wholesale Distributors.

    Cheers!

I don’t think that’s it. I’ve searched on beermenus for weeks now and it makes it right to the city limits and then just stops. Funniest thing is, right now, we’re getting the best distribution I’ve ever seen, and our distro is already pretty bananas, with no pandemic at all.

Seems odd that it makes it to the doorstep of the epicenter, doesn't it? Especially with all the other distribution, but maybe they're already in the city and the Bitburger distro is hesitant? How's the freshness on the other Bit products?

I'd contact the distro direct. http://www.bigbluebeer.com/

Well, this could be a part of the problem; at least 2 distros handling Bitburger in NYC.
    https://www.unionbeerdist.com/portfolio#catalog=brands/tab/4

There's even another handling it in some of the other Boroughs.

Explains why perhaps I haven’t seen it then, I assumed SN was part of the distribution network. Bitburger who knows.
