Unfortunately, this is consistent with my experience as well Jack (and so I also have stopped trying to contact wholesaler/distributors). Not that I've had a lot of luck with retailers either, but in the case I alluded to above, the retailer did at least try to make a call to the wholesaler (I may be wrong about this, but I assume that wholesalers do listen to what their retail accounts have to say). Also, even in those instances where they couldn't help me find the beer I was inquiring about, at least they'll usually try to get back in touch with me to give me an update.

In the end, it's really not that big a deal I guess. I would like to be able to try this beer at some point, but it's not as if I'm lacking when it comes to other good lager options where I live.

To be perfectly honest, I've become a bit spoiled by living in PDX. The city is such a great beer city, that I'm accustomed to being able to find pretty much anything and everything I want to drink (especially if it's a beer that's distributed nationally). All the more reason why I'm a bit puzzled that this beer doesn't seem to be available in this market (at least not yet).

And frankly I am the same way living in the Philly area. There was a post a few weeks ago about Heady Topper and Focal Banger being on the shelves of my local Wegmans supermarket and I simply had zero reaction about this news; there are just so many other high quality beers here to choose from.
The aspect that 'grinds my gears' is that these sales folks (both local retailers and their suppliers) really should be responsive to the end customers since we are what keep them employed and in business. I used to work for GE when Jack Welch was the CEO and one of his mantra's was “Companies don't give job security. Only satisfied customers do.”. These folks really should take heed here. The majority of my beer budget is going to the plethora of small, local breweries vs. the larger, distributing breweries. The beer distributing industry really should not want that to happen and providing responsive service would help them get more money.

    Cheers!

Could not agree more. Maybe this beer is more limited than I realize, but otherwise, I think it's pretty inexcusable that the national distribution roll out has been so hap hazard. Some areas of the country have apparently been able to buy this beer for several months now, yet here in PDX it's still not available? Lot's of other areas of the country as well? That just seems incredible to me.

Good to see someone mentioning that they like the beer.. page after page of old dudes arguing about bs was getting old.

Picked up a case from Costco today for like $30.. felt like a good value and the SN name always makes it worth the gamble, so to speak.

I really enjoyed it! When I visited the Live Oak brewery last it was my favorite beer from the tap room. Color is super straw-like and has a slightly bitter but clean taste. It just tastes like “beer.” You’re right it’s a rarity for a brewery of this caliber to make that style so I was thrilled to see it available in the store.

My new go to buy at Trader Joes’s.

$8.99 for the triple hop’d is the best price I’ve seen it. $10.99 at total wine. Can’t believe it’s $2 less at TJ’s. Plus, $4.99 for bitburger pils is always a good buy.

It’s s great combo. Start with Original lager then the hoppy lager. The cans of bitburger are really good. Cheers

I did just buy Radeberger a few weeks ago because I found it only a couple months old. That is what usually stops me.

Western Long Island people, and a big thanks to @zid , got a few 6-packs at Total Wine in Westbury. Also, scored really fresh Kicking and Screaming from Threes (a foudre-fermented pils) and a really cheap 4 of Kostritzer. Let’s go

I haven't seen this anywhere near me and the Bitburger site, while nice visually, is not user friendly in regards to locating beer (if there is a beer finder I missed it and I clicked around everywhere). Using other sites there is none close to me so I may need to miss out on this one unfortunately. Odd, as my local Wegmans carries at least singles of the regular Pilsner (which I do really enjoy btw).

I would assume BevMo would have it. I’ve seen it around me in SoCal at TJ’s, and total wine.
