    Always a slightly somber holiday, but glad to be able to enjoy it.

    social distanced with my parents earlier and split this from Montclair Brewery with my old man

    home now having some Sunshine Pilsners. Pretty tasty, but a touch sweet. Very easy to drink though

    [​IMG] Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned on 5/04/2020. Pours a hazy yellow orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves massive gobs of lace is it slowly settles. 4.5

    Smell is passion fruit, stone fruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, blueberry, apricot, and grapefruit rind. 4.5

    Taste follows stone fruit, pineapple, tangerine, passion fruit, mango, blueberry, apricot, and some slightly bitter grapefruit in the lingering finish. 4.5

    Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, soft gentle carbonation, a tad sticky, and goes down rather easy, but may drink slightly bigger than 8%. 4.75

    Overall this is a very nice NEDIPA. Another beer that stands out and is tasty, but in a different way than many other. 4.5

    Time for an obscure Swede, Hummelholm by Westerbottens Bryggeri. Enjoying this while I laugh at the USPS. My package of BA gear has been seeing the sights. It started in Wilmington, North Carolina. It then went to Miami for some rays and international delivery to... Houston. Wait, what? Where? But then it got going again. To Chicago. Does the Postal Service realize that Sweden is not in America? So I’m running on faith. Now that’s a GREAT segue.

    After bringing home the groceries this morning, I went on my first beer run in weeks and hit up two large retailers, one new to me...first up a beer that is fresh 5/14/20 and highly recommended by the store manager - “Dr. Juice” by Parrish Brewing Co.:

    Turns out to be a light bodied, kinda juicy NEIPA that is loaded with onion and garlic...when I saw “Juice” on the label I said I didn’t want any NEIPAs. He assured me it was a WCIPA and I didn’t look it up on my cell phone...a mistake I won’t make at this new place again, as I purchased solely on his recommendation. Drinkable, but the oniony aspect is not to my liking...oh well, live and learn...
