Yea I absolutely love this beer. Glad I grabbed 8 cans. Greatly executed.

I also had the Folksbier maibock - another great local example of the style. Folksbier is such an underrated brewery in the area.

Brewed with mountains of flaked oats and mounds of Mosaic, Sabro, and Motueka, Fluffy Tufts is our new ultra soft and fluffy DIPA. We switched up our DIPA water profile to produce maximal Charmin Cloud Teddy Bear Energy. Aromas of papaya and pineapple upside down cake waft from its billowy white foam, and on the palate we get mouth-coating hop resins with big papaya and guava and background hints of lime, black tea, and sweet coconut cream. 8% ABV—$20/4-pk⁣

⁣Fluffy Tufts releases today at the brewery and on delivery platforms! We’re open from 12-8pm! This will be available for NYS shipping when we update the store on Friday.

I can't get on the sabro or cashmere train. I live coconut in my stouts and porters but they don't belong in ipas. But I still love you grimm

it's not super sabro forward. biggest difference between this and classic Grimm DIPA is the water and bitterness profile.

"Coconut doesn't belong in IPAs" is a bad and wrong opinion and I personally welcome Grimm putting sabro and cashmere in absolutely everything.

In fact, allow me to throw this idea out into the world: A coconut blonde ale. That would be the tropical, refreshing summer crusher to end all tropical, refreshing summer crushers.

I assume it's less bitter? Have you guys done this before with any other beers?

a few here and there. but we're pretty attached to our usual IPA water profile because it produces a mouthfeel that lifts off the palate cleanly at the end of the sip which makes it more drinkable and refreshing. But fluffy tufts uses a more the standard NEIPA type water profile which is more mouth-coating.

we'll have tesseract out shortly so that's a good opportunity for a side by side mouthfeel comparison

Tesseract! Being the first IPA we ever made, this beer is always extra special to us. Showcasing Mosaic and Citra hops, we get smooth flavors of pineapple, orange, and candied peach rings intertwined with underlying hop resin. Exceptionally clean and unmuddied hop flavors and a beautifully luminous haze make Tesseract a perennial favorite for all of us at Grimm. 8% ABV—$20/4-pk.⁣

My first ever maibock and certainly not my last. I can see myself consuming multiple packs of this gem. This and tesseract will get me through June. Thanks @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales

@Grimm_Artisanal_Ales I have a soft spot for Tesseract, it’s one of the beers that converted my nephew from a college aged macro drinker to craft. I am a big fan too. This batch leans more to West Coast compared to previous batches, still great though. Interested in your thoughts on this observation.

It is, almost what I would colloquially call an "east coast IPA." But super clean, refreshing at 8 percent. Right amount of fruity. Not sure how HAZEBOIZ would like it, but I'm a fan, since I had it years ago at Browerij Lane.

Awesome to see Butterfly Door here in Philadelphia. Is that a one-time thing or should we expect to see Grimm IPAs down here more regularly?

Just a bit of batch to batch variation based on raw materials. The Tesseract recipe is one that really doesn't change at all.

We've been distro-ing super small amounts to philly for a couple of months now. A lot of the draft as of late has been sold to Fountain Porter. Love that bar! Tell them hi from us!
