Sir, many of us are professional beer demons. Our passion for all things beer and conveying our impressions of our evil lust for the suds is as much for your edification as for our mirth and merriment. No one is expected (or counseled or encouraged) to indulge such as we do.

    I kid you not...

My last can of Trillium's take on Other Half's All Citra Everything. For whatever reason, this can didn't have a label. Also, like 95% of Trillium's IPAs, the head is absolutely unremarkable. Tofu pressing in the background, quinoa in the pot, and vegetables in another. It's about to get LARRRGE up in here. Cheers!

Yards IPA - This summer I am making it a point to revisit some of the classics, easily available and in many cases, local. I came across this bottled on 06/12 and I am pretty sure that in all of my years of drinking it this may be some of the freshest I have ever had. It's quite tasty and well balanced and drinking this one on the fresher side does make a difference I am seeing; the combination of flavors are shining and it finishes with just the right amount of bitterness.

I'm drinking this beer and you're not. You've also never heard of this brewery. Mainly because it didn't exist a week ago. Well, sort of. It was called Rebel Kettle until one of the owners/brewers left with the name. I'll be sending a couple to Chicago this week...

@miwestcoaster, I did due diligence on the Stroh's website, but it mentions nothing about the beer. Just trying to sell branded merchandise. The Classic is only 4,5% now, and was a really nice clean lager. I entered my review in the existing Stroh's BA listing. Not sure it's worth the additional $5 / 30 pack over Hamms. I just wish I could get some of that fire brewed stuff that I thought was a real upgrade to my Old Milwaukee back in college.

Kane's Overhead - DDH with Mosaic and El Dorado. I snapped this photo just before the very-needed rain started falling. The regular Overhead is a favorite of mine but I have to say, this variant is just better. I'm blown away by how good it is. I can't compare it directly to Pliny or Heady because they are very different beers but my ratings are comparable. Cheers!

You may be on a Quixotic hunt, Jason, my friend.

I loved Stroh's starting back in the early 70s (half-seriously falling for the marketing of the 'fire-brewed' taste). In reality, it was just as good, and in some cases, better than other available AALs around then. Yet I still love the brand to this day, if only for the nostalgia.

But there is an actual difference in the mass produced beers. Coors is a prime example for me. We used to think it was such a big deal to get it back in the day. Now, I refuse to drink it if there are alternatives. Stroh's, Budweiser, and Rolling Rock are much more pleasing to my palate. And Hamms has legions of AAL fans here on BA.

The way I look at it, if you've liked your basic Stroh's in the past, and you want a reliable supply of cheap, easy drinking beer on hand, a case of Stroh's may well be worth it.

Of course, I'd be torn between Stroh's if it was still distributed out in Colorado Springs versus Gold Buckle Beer, but that should be a topic for another thread...

I greatly thank you for indulging me in a Stroh's trade...

I told the gf to either finish the last beer or dump it. She opted for the latter. As for head retention on Trillium beers, this is a known thing. I feel like Congress and Stillings retain well, to name a couple. Speaking of which, I need to get some more Stillings Street. Such a good beer. Oh, this beer is pretty damn good, too!!! I love it. Peace.

Not sure how good the name Rebel Kettle is going to do him in this day and time, but that’s another thread.
