Ah, yes - the best Irish Stout brewed in Holland! I'd take it over GD any day - damn the missing 0.2% of alcohol.

I'm totally with you there. Unadulterated versions are difficult to come by, so thank goodness for whatever imports we have.

Long time no see btw. Welcome back!

I agree. I do want some nice easy drinking dark lagers. It ain't stouty or ipaish but they do drink well with food, dogs and other friends.

It's fun to be poking around here again. Lots have changed in the near four years I was away. Then again, not that much, ha.

What do you recommend for imports of low-abv porters or stouts. I see some on occasion, but often I'm left with one-off things that nation brewers make when trying to scratch that itch.

Same as you and add barrel aged imperial brown ales, dubbels, doppelbocks, and nitro porters/stouts

Usually it's still Samuel Smith's for me, and I can easily grab a couple 500ml bottles of Taddy Porter or Oatmeal Stout. They aren't the most cost effective beers, but you can't beat that yeast signature with the dark malts.

When I picked up the Murphy's I just wanted something to last an afternoon and was being kind of cheap about it .

Kostritzer 4 packs also have great bang for the buck.

Hazy ipas, and stouts with 21 ingredients are squeezing more and more traditional (import or not) beers off the shelves, but I swear there is a new one of these stupid “sours” every week.

Kostritzer! Hell yeah. I’ve been crushing that stuff this summer. Lovely brew.

There are so many lager styles that I would like to drink more of, but I think I am addicted to IPA's. Whenever I go the the beer store I always come out with a boxful of IPA's and a sixer of stout or pilsner. Does anyone else experience this?

Roggenbier, kristallweizens, and weizenbocks. For a non BA style, I would like to be able to my hands on more Polish style honey lagers. Missing the ones from overseas.

Are those a traditional style, or a part of "new wave" American inspired breweries?

More traditional a style but I have had examples from old school breweries and newer brewers there. I find a lot of them on the shelves when I visit. They make them sort of similar to braggots but they are often much lighter.

Dry Export Stouts.Need some dark beers to drink during the summer. Just don't let the ABV get above 6.5%. You can even call them Tropical Stouts, just no addjunks.
