    Got a couple sideways glances from the family when I pulled this out of the fridge, as I'm not much of a morning drinker, but I'm sitting by a lake and I already shut the work laptop down for the weekend (something I almost never do), so whatever...I'm going to enjoy the day!

    I hope that the Oregon coast never gets a massive Tsunami. Ironically, it would wash away both of the Pelican Breweries in Pacific City and Cannon Beach.

    Happy Friday, all. Grabbed a late entry All Together by Jester King:

    The beer seems pretty darn good to me - reminds me a little of some early Ocelot (which reminds me a little of Maine Beer). Nice and soft with tropical fruits, peel stem and all, with a little funky hop note backing it up.

    Heard collaboration song (Texas Sun) and Shazammed it the other day. It got me digging into the featured artist, and turns out that my GF had looked up this song a couple weeks ago. So it seemed fitting as the calendar did just turn to...


    Found out that "fans also like" another soul singer I've enjoyed in the past:

    Beer break...Jr. Z has been a big help repacking/unpacking the garage...now that the garage is 100+° daily, I’ve brought about 10 large and/or hanging boxes of Mrs. Z’s clothes into the house...her clothes shouldn’t spend the summer in a hot/humid garage...but I’m afraid she will turn my “office” (read “man cave”) into a walk-in closet...we shall see...

    My first Chicago outing since the Rona began. Metropolitan Brewing worked with a descendent of the founder of Seipp’s Brewery, a Pre-prohibition Chicago Brewery to recreate Seipp’s Extra Pale Ale. Further description in the menu pictured below.

    Everything clean, well spaced and managed here, just like my suburban experience a few Fridays ago. The bars I pass near my house are not taking it as serious, so sticking with the breweries operating safely, and walking when not comfortable.

    Hope all of you can enjoy a similar safe experience soon.

    As featured on WXRT today on all vinyl day, my favorite Rock Band.

    The question of when and whether we would go out to a brewery again has been discussed elsewhere. This is my response. Very impressed: mandatory masks, socially distanced line markers, outdoor service (under a large tent), and a hostess (dare I suggest "flight attendant"), who kept the parties separated.



    Foreigner seems very ahead of the curve (in the video) with outdoor service and social distancing. That's not their RV, though. Put masks on them and they would be set.

    Stay Safe, Cool, and Calm, and Sláinte, mo chairde!
