I've been getting home delivery from B. United and made the mistake of ordering some 1809 Berliner Weiße (https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23495/36378/)
This is easily one of the best beers I've ever tasted and I keep finding myself contemplating ordering a full shipment even though it's $7 for a .5l bottle.

So help me out here and recommend another unflavored Berliner Weiße with an affordable price. My son is living in Easton, PA now so I'm looking for something distributed in upstate NY, eastern PA, or western NJ.

    Thanks in advance

Round Guys in PA (about a 45 min drive from Easton) occasionally cans theirs.

They have it available right now, you can order online and pick it up. $12/4 pack of 16 oz cans

I wouldn't think that either of you'd have too much trouble finding Off Color Fierce. And the yuzu version is pretty complementary with the base beer, fwiw.

Von Trapp has a “straight” Berliner out right now

Ithaca makes 'Cayuga Cruiser,' which is what you're looking for, easy to find in Upstate NY and extremely attractive from a price perspective.

This one is very traditional and also at a very nice price point.

Sadly the only Von Trapp around here is their Vienna/Dunkel/Pilsner/Helles variety pack

Not so sad if you like those beers. I am a BIG fan of Von Trapp Dunkel for example.

    Cheers!

I agree. I've already bought 2 of the variety packs, the Dunkel & Vienna are nice, but I had a hard time telling the difference between the pilsner and the Helles.

Only available in stores as part of the variety 12 pack. Closest place is the brewery so I might make a run up there this weekend (+- hour drive).

    Thanks for the recommendation.
Apparently they don't distribute upstate. I'll have my son check the Easton/Phillipsburg area.

Darn! I was getting it in Rockland before they started to distribute to NJ. But I guess that's not upstate enough.

Good luck to your son. He might need to go to the right kind of store, however. Last I heard there was more of a bottle shop in Bethlehem (that's where my sister lives, fwiw.)

It's a solid beer but for sure not worth an hour's drive. That said, Ithaca is obviously a dope place to spend a day and there's a few breweries up that way so if you're making a whole trip of it I can see that making sense.

I've also been ordering from B. United during the pandemic, and had the 1809 Berliner yesterday. It was a really nice little beer.

Never mind. Just checked Ithaca's website and it's no longer on the website for cans or draft.

I'm not sure how far upstate they distribute, but Newburgh Brewing's Checkpoint Charlie seems like a decent option.

They're in Albany, and that's an awesome beer and an even better price point, but I feel like I haven't seen it fresh in years.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
They do ship to me, but that beer isn't available.
