Pretty much they just hand picked from the top of the BA top 250 and then decided to toss in the Allagash River Trip session beer and Bells Two Hearted because they wanted to and not based on anything else. Article wasn’t required at all.

The article also links to this article:
But the link goes to article entitled The 35 Most Popular Craft Breweries in America (which is quite a different topic) and appears to base "popular" on something other than actual sales, using a blog https://housemethod.com/blog/most-popular-breweries/
Gimme a fuckin' break. They're basing "popularity" on social media mentions? WTF.

The same author also screws up the corporate owner of Dos Equis in another article linked in the OP- 31 Biggest Beer Brands in America

Grupo Modelo is owned by AB-InBev internationally, with Constellation owning the US rights and brewing them in Mexico for the US market.

Dos Equis is brewed by Heineken-owned Cervecería Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma.

I will say that Allagash River Trip is a very tasty brew and one that I love to have available in the hot summer weather. I was surprised to see this on the list.

The problem with a lot of U.K. beers is that on cask they are world class (If properly kept & served) & bottled they are so so, though conditioned cans in effect creating mini individual casks is addressing this.
Thornbridge’s Wild Swan on cask is a sublime complex mix of flavours that with its low abv is very refreshing and a great first pint as it’s not bottle conditioned it has very little of that.
English dark mild too, force pressured pasteurised bottling destroys all the subtle flavours & leaves it like a watered down stout.
Going to check though on the other European beers I’ve had, especially from Eastern Europe.

Or maybe "based on something else":
River Trip was number one on Vinepair's 50 Best Beers of 2019,
and Two Hearted was number one on Zymurgy’s 2019 Best Beers in America.

So? Under beers it lists the abyss as brewed by deschutes brewing company in Colorado. Fake news.

Interesting...so Beer Advocate user reviews for all but editors article opinions for 2 others. I guess there is some basis then, thanks for digging that up.

I was just giving other examples, on top of the one you cited, of sloppy work and misinformation by that writer and website.

IMO that is indeed a real 'challenge'. In the past I was traveling to Great Britain frequently for business and a pub near my hotel would always have Bass on cask and when that beer was in its 'sweet spot' (1-2 days after being tapped) that beer was excellent. Needless to say but when it got 'old' (3+ days from tapping) that beer was not so excellent. The bottles of Bass were consistent but not at the same level of that beer on cask and fresh.
Are conditioned cans (or even bottles) commonly available? Do you happen to know if any of these are exported to the US? Some examples of brands would be very helpful here.

    Cheers!

I've had 31 from that list. It honestly looks like he just picked through the top 250, with a few exceptions.

Yeah, there's more to life than Imperial stouts. Even though I love them. Also, they put Zombie Dust on here but no Alpha King, which is far superior to ZD in my book.

It's very difficult to find a good US-brewed tripel or quad.

I guess that is because Quads and Tripels don’t lend themselves to over hopping or adding flavors.
