    At 48 years old, I've stopped playing golf in 110+ heat indexes. I was hoping to break up the heat this summer with a golf trip to Idaho in August, but that's been postponed until 2021. Fortunately, there's AC, ice water and cold beer to see me through to the fall.

    Yeah, heard that. Might be time to buy central A/C here; I'm 49 and it's getting ridiculous. Window units my ass... "You'll be fine, you don't need AC in Colorado" said the real estate agent in 2005. My ass.
    Don't miss those central TX 100+ days, with what 90% armadillo humidity. Cheers!

    Mrs. BeerGoot insisted on central A/C when I retired from the USAF in '04. And it's helped in many ways. But I would also strongly suggest people get some good insulation before anything else, at least in the attic...it makes such a difference year-round...

    Happy birthday dude! I surmise you are now of legal drinking age :rolling_eyes: On the way to OBX, NC we stop at a place on 460 named Virginia Diner. A favorite stop for many folks. Anyway. Guy did an episode there and his picture is on the wall.

    Wanted to participate in the beer and whisky pairing thread -- this pairing was inspired by another experience some years ago. Anyway, Silver City's Ride the Spiral and Laphroaig Quarter Cask.

    Meanwhile, fermenting in the pantry, we have the very beginning of my wife's latest iteration of homemade hot sauce. Hasn't even started to bubble yet.

    I’ve read that the Hurricane was an incredibly stable platform for its arms. I presume that may have helped in its roll as a gunship against the bombers.

    I hear ya about the heat. Not my thing anymore. In a formal life I was an iron worker working in the oppressive Virginia summers. Did not seem to bother me then. But not now. After 30 minutes they would have to call an ambulance. It is a young mans game.
