They most likely don't have a local shipping/delivery service to work with. They use smaller local services to deliver their packages, so if they don't have one, they can't deliver to that state.
Exactly this - they were in NC/SC for a while but lost their local delivery company and had to pull out of the market.
Has anyone had any success with the subscription service? I do it every 3 months, but I've now skipped my last 3 after really enjoying the first box. For reference, that first subscription box had quite a few gems in it: Drekker Brain Squeeze, BA Baltic Porter from Cycle, Taxman Coconut Evasion, etc. I was very happy with that box. After 2 subsequent substandard boxes I complained. I thought next time they'll get it right. Not even close. Here was my e-mail to them: It's been around 9 months since I gave such excellent and mostly positive feedback on your subscription program. Unfortunately, since then, the subscription boxes I have been offered have been filled with trash. Take the latest box, which appeared on my app today. Included in the 12 are the following: Foundation Raspberry's My Jam - Available in Connecticut less than an hour from my house. Kent Falls Fingerprint - Available in Connecticut less than an hour from my house. Plan Bee Barn Beer - Available on the shelves in my local stores. Logsdon Zuurpruim - Available on the shelves in my local stores. Logsdon Natural Selection - Available on the shelves in my local stores. Evil Twin NYC A Little Less Immoderation - Are you serious? I was AT THE BREWERY on Monday. It is also available on the shelves in my local stores. The Bruery Bakery: Oatmeal Cookie - Available on the shelves in my local stores. That's 7 out of 12 I can get without breaking a sweat. I don't know who's in charge of filling these boxes, but I would implore those people to put in a little extra effort for a customer almost ready to receive his 21st shipment and who has spent over $2,700 with you. I otherwise adore your service. Thank you in advance for your attention. To their credit, the response I received was pretty favorable: Thanks so much for reaching out and taking time to provide the detailed feedback. I will follow up with our merchandising team and see where things might be going off course. I know beers have been really tight and hard to properly distribute with COVID-19 changing what's available and putting unprecedented pressure on our demand. But we are up for the challenge! I'll be sure to highlight these specific examples you included here. Has anyone encountered anything like this in your experience with Tavour?
Personally haven’t done the subscription because I was afraid of A. Getting stuck with old IPAs B. The experience of them filling my box with stuff I can get locally or near local and C. Filling it with beers I’ve had and didn’t like or necessarily Want to buy again.
For those keeping track, today was another super secret, no alert, Thursday beer posting on Tavour around noon. Dazzle Dance Hazy Pale Ale is not as exciting as some of the others.
That is my problem, too! Plus with all the pandemic craziness, there must be tons of new users. Beers sell out in under an hour, when it used to take days.
IMO, they seem seasonal in relation to brewery offerings. I see reprises of the dark types interspersed, but they seem to aged bottles usually. Not all the time, e.g. the FW cherry bitter smoked porter...which was the same price as I found on the local shelves.
I had a problem with the delivery company, always late by as much as a week, poor to no communication, no apologies... I actually let Tavour know that after three miserable experiences, I was done ordering from them. I just broke that promise with that damned Blessed (and if A Deal With the Devil would have been in a bottle a instead of a can...”), but we’ll see how this shipment goes. Same as you, I spent a relatively obscene amount of money for craft beer, and it didn’t phase them much. I credit that to the pandemic where people are reluctant to go outside, so a beer delivery service seems awesome, leading to tons of new users offsetting the loss of some older customers.
Went for the chocolate maple vanilla dark star, haven’t been a fan of the other versions but give this one a shot.
I wish that was on my feed. I have gotten a lot of Pipeworks recently, which I can buy 30 minutes from my house.
Had another not great experience with Tavour after taking a long break from ordering. Bought five beers, 1 Anchorage ipa, 2 Anchorage Blessed, 2 Anchorage Ten Years. Received the box today and instead of the 2 bottles of Anchorage Ten Years, I got two orange slushy ipa cans from some brewery in IL. Not sure how you screw up packing an order that badly, but I'm particularly annoyed given that those were two $50 bottles that are missing. Sent an email, and they best not offer me a credit, because I'm just done with Tavour at this point.
Holy hell thats terrible. They never sold out of 10 years on my feed so hopefully they still have them for you. Luckily I’ve never had that issue but not the first I’ve seen.
Yeah, I'd actually like to get the beers. Earlier this year there was a Cycle/Horus collab that I bought, and I bought a few more things just to pad out the box. When the box arrived, the Cycle bottle was missing and it had sold out. So I got a box of stuff that I wasn't particularly excited about.
I think that slushy beers are an abomination, so I won't even drink these two "ipas with orange puree" that I got. How horrifying. I'm waiting for them to explode on the counter.
Seriously. I can get all the KCBC beers ever brewed and a million mediocre faux-hazies delivered three months after canning but where are the special beers?
