    It certainly could be just me. Maybe I'll try it again this year.
    Nevermind. I had a hunch and just looked at their German website. It's called Festweisse there. The "technicality" must be the market. Seems to be the same beer. They brew it for their autumn festival. Roughly translated:

    Oh, and the site states it's a specialty for "Festsaison." There's a joke about beer styles lurking in there somewhere. :grin:

    Here's one to make you, and everyone, scratch your head & face-palm -- Hacker-Pschorr Okto 12-packs proudly tout: Oktoberfest Marzen - Original Festbier. :grin::thinking_face:

    We don’t joke about beer styles here.

    I give up.

    Well, it literally translates to celebration season.

    Fest= Celebration or party (as a noun, one meaning)
    Saison= season

    Yeah. I was just kidding. It's perfectly logical... the humor of it just struck me considering how much trouble people seem to have with something as equally logical as "Festbier." :slight_smile:

    I am currently enjoying my first (and second) bottles of this new beer
    [IMG]
    Best Before 3/30/21 6.2% ABV. Big emphasis on toasted malt, but not sweet. Full review on the NBW thread. It's in the BA database now, so enter a review if you've tried it. Cheers!

    Yeah, just have to wonder what makes it Kolsch-style -- slightly estery?

    If I remember correctly, they just brewed a really strong kolsch ...

    So, like a really strong Pilsner? Or... a Maibock? :stuck_out_tongue::grin:

    Interesting that it’s not clear like the other imported Oktoberfests.

    @AlcahueteJ

    My bottles were quite clear, if I recall. I wouldn't say "brilliant" but not hazy or "off" in appearance, IMO. I'll pay more attention to my bottle I open today and confirm.

    Just a guess, but I'll bet that's condensation on the Krug.

    Funny thing, the new H-P Okto label says: Original - Festbier - Filtered

    Wonder if customers are so used to H-P Weizen that they have to make a point of filtering other beers?
