It's been interesting our conversations involving how much I spend on beer have evolved in our 11 years of marriage. We just don't discuss it anymore. We live well below our means and meet very aggressive savings goals. I don't drink much but I do drink well. Something like this will never be my every day drinker, it just can't be that much better than Central Waters barrel-aged barleywine. All the beer I have is very visible in the basement, all the beer I drink is very visible in the recycling bin, and she can check our credit card statement anytime she wants. All the jokes I make about her aside, my wife is absolutely amazing!

But I do hope she never finds out about this one!!!

I've been monitoring only, not buying, and so far, I find Tavour to be more annoying than useful.

Just put up what you have for sale and the prices and let me decide.

All these "random" feeds (i.e. somebody decides what I get to buy and when) are frustrating, annoying, and demeaning, like I'm some kind of kid hanging on hoping Dad lets me buy a treat.

    Not for me.

Good. Now there's no risk of me buzz buying one from the couch.

Curious as to why Wendigo sold out, but 10 Years and Blessed did not? I actually wish I would've shown some restraint with the other 2 and saved some $ to buy this one as I'm slowly but surely becoming a, "The less adjuncts the better" kinda guy with my BA stufff.

That’s why I deleted the app. Imagine running a brick and mortar bottle shop like this.

I got an Anchorage Blessed and Ten Year from Tavour. $100 in total. It shipped out July 16th and was estimated to arrive the 24th. Still haven't gotten it yet, although ostensibly the package will arrive today or tomorrow. Not using this service again.

Unsure. Wendigo first popped up for me last week at 6 per person. Then it re-popped up yesterday at 2pp with the 6pp still available.

For what it's worth, Blessed blew me away and 10 Year was way, way above average. Worth $50? Yes to Blessed, 10 year would have been fair at the Anchorage release price of $35.

I'll second how good Blessed is. It's hard to think that a $50 beer from Anchorage surpassed expectations but it truly did. One of the better beers I've had this summer.

Yeah. Not sure why their shipping is so God awful slow? It easily will take 10 days or more for me to receive my package. How is it that most companies can get an order to me in 3 days max, across country, including heavy shipments, or even freight shipments, but it takes Tavour two weeks to ship a case of beer? Since it takes so damn long, pretty much guarantees my purchase will be sitting in some hot warehouse for at least one weekend. That's probably my main complaint with their service.

Its largely because they ship to a 3rd party and then that 3rd party ships to you. They aren't shipping directly to you because they have to use a local delivery service.

I spoke with one of the guys at my local homebrew place when they got in Blessed for a similar price as Craftshack. He said that Anchorage had jacked up the price for them to even get it down here, and he claimed they were basically making no money on the bottles; they just had it to have it because people want it. If that's true, I wouldn't be surprised if that's a similar case elsewhere. :grimacing:

Wouldn’t be that surprised, they have lost out on a lot of revenue with Alaska’s COVID restrictions. People can’t visit the brewery outside of locals and they’ve had these planned releases and need to get them out. Probably trying to recoup some of that.

Has anyone from the Philly area been expecting a shipment? Mine was supposed to be here last week but apparently once it hit Harrisburg it seems to have been stuck there, and in fact the courier service appears to have no idea what is going on. Everyday my app tells me that the delivery date is pushed a day back, and another day back, and another day back. The delivery service said they have not received the crate from FedEx and that FedEx is not reachable for info. I was wondering if any of you folks in SE PA have more info, as I assume more than just my crate is included in this latest shipment. I reached out to Tavour for help but they have not returned my emails/phone calls.
