Well maybe I just shouldn't talk about anything in my life. My life is boring.

    Once again

Caught up on some work emails all morning while watching Stage 1 of the Tour de France, now it's time for a beer. I opened up this Coolship Balaton with the intention of writing a review for New Beer Weekend, only to find (after opening it) that I already had one a few months ago. I may not have a great memory, but who cares. It's a great beer either way.

It's an off/on rainy day. But at least it's not too hot. I'm having a beer that would be perfect for a hot day, though. Troegs Sunshine Pilsner. I think it used to be called Sunshine Pils. It has spicy hops, grass, cracker and floral notes on the nose & palate. This is a damn good beer and I'm surprised that I've never had it before.

A weekend mood kind of post - for me at least, at this time of day - a little peach cobbler cake my wife made, with Fremont's Dark Star to pair in the background. After my 12 mile run.
Still feelin' giddy. Nice, cool, and cloudy today too... a great break from the 90s of recent.
    Cheers!

T / follows smells and led to Joyful, juicy fruit bomb with peach, guava, lychee, lime dominant - with bitter pine finish. Vic Secret shows up too.

2d Review after MacMalt. This feels like over-dressed Jerseyans on the boardwalk evening.
    a) Translucent glowing golden body mounts dense and lasting, lacing head.
    s) Corsage floral with melon, pineapple, oats.
    t) More of aroma - grows and glows bigger with each floral, aromatic, individual note of the fruit sharpened by the over-hopping and alcohol. of citrus, pineapple, ripe melon, and oats. Agree with Mac on the vanilla cream underbelly, and enjoying the pepper on crackers finish.
    f) Full mouth feel. remains floral, peppery to the end. Reminds me of nasturium and fennel seeds.
    o) Fine collaboration with Other Half, Brooklyn and Carton, Atlantic Highlands - both have excellent hard water.
Twin Lights Double Vision | The Alementary | IPA | 6.5%
    4.15
    /5 rDev 0%
    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.25
Added by Act 25. While designed in Highlands, and brewed in Hackensack, this IPA is a winner.
    a) Hazed NE style, brings a lasting and lacing white head.
    s) Floral, melon, green rind, earthy hop, white pepper.
    t) Follows smell, lovely blend of melon, wet earth, peppery, rosy flowers, and spicy pepper. (Simcoe, Mosaic & Chinook)... really highlights the hops.
    f) Mid, juicy, fleshy.
    o) I hope these brewers, friends since 6th grade find a home soon, as they're good.
Mary Lee Please Dont Eat Me | Ship Bottom | Saison | 5%

    /5 rDev 0%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4
Added by Act 25. Designed on Long Beach Island (nj), brewed in Pottstown (pa). Lovely.
    a) Gets A for looks in a hazed sturdy format with lasting, lacing, puffy islands of off white head.
    s) Suitable yeast, earth, hay and dank notes.
    t) Follows smell with a bit more funk, nice estery yeasty finish.
    f) mid to light. Flavorful, powerful for 5%, refreshing tho a touch dank.
    o) Great effort would buy again and taste vs other great saisons. Sum is good.

Windmill Fruity Memescake Berliner from the source. They call it a fruity breakfast cereal-inspired cheesecake inspired Berliner with lactose. Smells and tastes just like Fruity Pebbles, with cheesecake and bright lemon flavor and tartness coming through as well. Not as sweet as it sounds thankfully. A bizarre but enjoyable beer, if you can even call it a beer.

Just finished cutting the grass. It is hot and humid. I think you could give me horse pee right now and it would taste good. But I rather have this Bacher Grapefruit Radler from ALDI. That will do just fine...

I thought about grilling this afternoon, but it’s 94° and no air movement; otherwise a productive day of getting Mrs. Z out of the house, driving around, and going to yard sales (masked/social distancing) where she found a new cake plate with glass dome  and I got a used Amana dorm fridge for $25! It’s up and running and soon to be filled with, you guessed it, beer!

At the risk of blowing out my palate, I’ve been dying to try this next beer - Lawson’s “Double Sunshine”:
