St. Bernardus's Tripel is way too refreshing for an 8% abv beer.

I tried to spend more time on the beach today but the breeze was offshore and the biting flies were a nuisance so it's back to the deck and an IPA - Twin Elephant's I'm Seein' Robots - for me.

No, not yet. I've had a number of its beers and really like some of them. Marbled Buffalo may be the best Rye Beer I've had, and for lite beach drinking the Vienna Lager is great! I would have bought some this week but the store was out. I live in North Jersey and spend a lot of time at the South Shore but don't get to suburban Philly much. I'd like to visit Double Nickel.

I can’t take credit for this name - it belongs to Northern Brewer, and I misspelled it - “Kama Citra Session IPA”. Cheers!

So I've been searching high and low for Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen for the last month or so, and I'm starting to fear we might not see it this year. But this caught my eye while I was just out, so I decided to pick up a 4-pack. Never had it before and a nice classic German pilsner is always welcome. Here’s to a long weekend. Cheers!

Normally, I'd be cooking by now, but I just got up from a long nap (second today), and no one is quite hungry, so I'm going to wait and do some painting. In the mean time, this beer is the truth.

I asked myself, "Do I really want a second Loopulus?" Then I asked myself, "What would @TheIPAHunter do?" And then I answered, "He would get LARRRRRGE, sir. He would get large."

    Indeed.

Cheers all, and enjoy your weekend!

First visit to Half Acre in nearly a year. This is one of the last breweries to reopen. Nice to be back at Balmoral, my preferred HA spot.

Came in to enjoy their new WCIPA, Flatland. This is a $6 6.7%ABV 10 oz draft poured into a plastic cup. I hate you COVID and your shitty glassware.

Appearance: Crystal clear golden straw pour, heavy carbonation, bright fine white head, creamy and rich. This beer looks as good as a beer can in plastic. 4.5.

Aroma: Light pine, front and center, malt rich caramel backs well. Hard to pick out more with the incredible brewing smell percolating outside generated from the brewery. 3.5.

Taste: Light pine taste, malt backs well cracker and bread. Not a typical Half Acre IPA. Lighter tasting than expected, but pleasant. 3.50

    Mouthfeel:
Very light, carbonation strong throughout the pour but negligible on the tongue. Faintly dry and bitter, easy clean finish. 3.25

    Overall:
Light easy Half Acre take on the IPA. More malt, less pine and bitterness, consistent with the Midwest take on a WCIPA. Good offering, but not taking home a four pack. 3.5

WXRT vinyl Friday continues. Had one of my favorite summers when this album came out, hope if you were alive you can say the same.

Backed by Chaka Khan, side one of Steve Winwood’s Back in the High Life.
