    I decided to moderate this evening and drink FiftyFifty 2015 Elijah Craig imperial stout instead of River North's 2018 bourbon barrel aged Double Avarice (11.9% vs 19.46%)...

    This is from a 2015 edition of the 12-year Elijah Craig...

    Ink black body; relatively thin yet dense and creamy light tan head. Light aroma of whiskey; faint traces of cocoa and roasted malt. Rich, malty flavor dense with milk chocolate, oak, and bourbon; vanilla. Heavy body; dense and oily; chewy and sweet tempered with a nice whiskey warmth.

    I believe the aroma may have suffered some with five years of age, but the taste and mouthfeel really shine on this beer. The boozy character adds a nice balancing quality to the thick, rich sweetness of this imperial stout. I'm sure the honey greatly adds to the feel and taste. I must admit that this has been around for a few years, but at nearly $35.00 a pop, I wasn't too keen on taking a stab at this. In this case, I probably should have sucked it up and gone for it. Chances are I'll be checking out some of their other versions, plus there are some newer versions of the Eclipse stouts that are now calling my name. Oh, the humanity...

    Long day at work. Leftovers for food tonight. Celebrating my 24th anniversary tonight. Pulled this Beauty out. Oak aged. Wow. So fucking good. I really wish this was still made.

    Huge abv is fully hidden. Vanilla on the nose and in the finish. Oak is here but not overpowering. Silky smooth.

    Moving on to this fantabulous D-IPA from Solace.

    And watching Richie Havens at Woodstock jammin' on his Guild D-40. I had a '74 Guild D-40 (I was the original owner) and sold it to buy a Fender Twin Reverb. It's a great amp but I have regretted that sale ever since because that Guild was built in Rhode Island before Fender bought them out. :tired_face::disappointed @LarryV My wife warned me not to sell that guitar and she was right.

    First day of the whole week off, spent building a little gate for the deck and reorganizing the special beer fridge. Both were more difficult than it sounds. For example, I had the gate fully built by 3 PM...ready to mount the angles and eye bolts when I realized I didn’t subtract 3” for the hardware distance. Enter swearing and consideration of options. So, I took it apart, recut, rebuilt, and finally installed.

    Nice, cold, crisp CCB Florida Man, after a delicious homemade corn chowder, courtesy of the missus.

    Please clarify: are those all YOUR Eclipses on a shelf? Our local shop has some 2015s, but nothing like that volume. They sell for $29, or $25 if you have a loyalty card. I’ve only had the Woodford Reserve version, and it was worth every penny.
