What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2883

I think I'll join @VABA.
Wife is having her hair trimmed and colored for the first time in six months. I don't think I've ever seen her this excited.

 

Sausage pizza and barrel aged Siberian Night with coffee. Great beer. Cheers!

 

Second and final planned beer today, Lake Effect Small Batch Chili Porter, 5.0% of spicy chocolate flavor.



Paired with Campbell's Chunky Gumbo. It's not Chef Emeril's, but with added Tabasco, spices and pepper tastes better than it sounds.

I just spent ~30 minutes on the phone and on the web trying to find a beer which should not be difficult to find. The closest it is available is hundreds of miles away. My bag of tricks isn't empty yet though because I don't mind making drunken phone calls to bottle shops and web shops.

It looked nothing at all like a stout I agree, check out this picture:



Despite the color this is absolutely a stout in the flavor/taste/mouthfeel aspects. Definitely not expected to see this when I poured the beer. I assume it is from the banana puree they used.

I drink a ton of UA beer and personally I think their stouts are hit and miss but generally quite solid. I think they almost always nail the flavor profile they are trying to execute but occasionally they come out way to thin. I don't have a can close by to verify but I think this beer may have used all natural ingredients

Beer #3. Thanks @thisischuck01 ! One of the best Other Half brews I’ve had this year. And I came into this one with zero expectations.

Session strength, great nose, great taste. The trifecta.

Hill Farmstead Society and Solitude #5.

 

Worked 6 days straight now I have 2 off. On Wednesday I was like "I'm not fucking staying home on my next day off.". Was thinking of driving to 450 North but, decided to go down 41 instead of 65. When I saw a street called 250 North and the app on my phone I said fuck it and went to Kankakee IL where there is a Frank Lloyd Wright house. I was dragged to one in Grand Rapids and Iowa so figured half hour drive didn't seem bad. Too bad the town seems run down while the most expensive real estate is a museum. Tried to buy beer at a liquor store the handle was falling off the door. Anyway gps dropped me off 57 and Mone IL figured I'd go here.

 

So many questions...

1) What is that beer?
2) Why is there a brewery-labeled spray bottle on your table?
3) Did your beer come in a spray bottle?

I have others, but those are the first 3.
