Well I’m a tourist now; what did you expect? I’ll change my answer to something much more obscure and local: Duckfat :laughing:

Sad news about the Fenway spot. When I moved out of Peterborough Street in ‘08 the classiest place in town was either Thornton’s Grill or El Pelón. Gentrification blows

anyway, in all seriousness, as far as oysters go, nothing holds a candle to island creek raw bar in my hometown of Duxbury. I get homesick just thinking of it.

Don't call Steven Wright a gnarly stranger like that, the guy just wants to sleep on your couch and take a spot at your picnic table. Is that too much to ask?

My negative test should be dropping today or tomorrow. Excited for my first time in Portland. Planned my vacation this year before covid hit. Since I was new to my company I took the less preferred time i September versus the more popular July-ish timeframe. I actually prefer September anyway as it’s my favorite month weather wise. Once covid hit I was thinking how I’m lucky that I didn’t take my vacation in June when this covid thing was in full force and that everything should be back to normal by September. In hindsight I was so wrong, but nonetheless with a negative test and places offering minimum contact I feel pretty comfortable. Still sad that treehouse, Armsby abbey, and bissell have not opened up, but will make due with the various other options in Portland and also trillium when I’m back down in Boston. Bissell released their tap finder which is nice. Seems like it’s basically everywhere.

We’re in a great stretch of weather out this way and Portland is looking good too. Great walking city - if that’s your primary mode of getting round. Perfect way to work off all the beers and food up there. Plenty of great places mentioned, but given the weather, I’d settle in at Novare’s patio and drink through their deep and varied list. Enjoy!

You can basically swing a dead cat in Portland and find Bissell on tap.

Technically, wouldn't you need to get another COVID test to go to Boston AFTER Maine, as the test is only valid for 72 hours prior to your arrival?

I’m in Maine for 2 days and Boston for 1. I think I should be good.

You just need one to go to Maine from Boston.

Maine is a low risk state and is exempt from Boston’s quarantine list.
