I was a little nervous going into the RS that some of these huge beers were going to be too sweet for me. Gray Monday just went on tap today and this beer is bonkers. The sweetness is just enough to temper the 20% and the hazelnuts shine through way more than I expected. Super dangerous.

I hope this post can help some of you revisit the memory of the first time you tried Gray Monday.

There’s still time to empty our wallets this year,

If I could go back in time and give myself advice when I first joined the RS, it would be to only buy as many bottles I know I'll be able to drink relatively soon and not let cases of them pile up.

Let me know your thoughts on both.

    This is amazing advice.

Yeah... I’ve screwed up there! At this point, I’m going to start opening old bottles, have a small glass, and dump the rest. Sucks, but there’s no way I’m going to get rid of all of this without a huge share... and we all know how likely that is right now.

I will second (fifth?) this advice. The FOMO is real. I've learned... am working to learn... that they constantly put out great stuff, so unless something is like top 10% for my taste I now lay off buying more.

    Doesn't really suck.

You drink a good beer, until you have your fill.

Have you ever been to a good share without a dump bucket?

A friend told me a while back, "You know, you can dump at home", it was a bit of a revelation.

Now-a-days, I open what I want, if I get tired of it, I dump it, no guilt, doesn't suck .

Opened a Grain in, Grain out, poured flat but still had a lot of flavor, anyone else have this issue

Buy less, drink more. I'm currently putting 2017 into cold storage. Fortunately I don't have much left before I really started to clamp down in 2018 and 2019. At least I don't have to worry about deploying for the next two to three years. God help me if I get orders overseas though.

Luckily I crossed that bridge in 2013. We had amassed hundreds of bottles in a cellar and then had to move across the country. Instead of trying to move it, we had a huge party and opened almost everything. I learned my lesson and haven't sat on beer like that since.

If you didn't find Gray too sweet, then I think you're good with the Bruery. I love my beers on the sweet side, but have had a few, like Perrin No Rules, that were way too sweet. Don't think I've ever had a Bruery beer that I thought was over the top. The closest was Poached Fig. That was kind of on par with Fremont Brew 3000 and that was borderline too sweet for me.

I need to adopt this philosophy as well. I've pretty much stopped buying "store" beer (ipa's, pales, etc.) a couple of months ago. Although I loaded up at Russian River this past weekend. But I'm down to splitting bombers of "lesser" stouts from the cellar as well because it's still too much for a weeknight and they don't hold up as well as most Bruery beers on day two. I just can't bring myself to pour them.

I love that I can get a crowler shipped! I’m excited to try Weasels (anytime offshoot brews a WCIPA, I’m on it!)

At the time, at least for me, there wasn't the volume of excellent breweries making barrel aged beer that there is now. So I felt more urgency to stock up since there was a lot more scarcity. If I could have seen into the future of all the great breweries that were to come, I wouldn't have purchased as much.

Furst was amazing, strawberry was there from start to finish like ice cream, Maple BT the first sip left me the feeling instead of an alcohol burn I had a strong maple syrup taste after the first sip, then it mellowed, another great beer

i should know this, but have the PB&J Thursday and BT Maple included beer hit the RS already?

Im having a hard time navigating the site, my orders are not sorted by date, the site says I’m not a member, but it has my 2020 included bottles listed. The last one it says i was given was Pie Happy

I assume they would have hit same time as HS... So the answer is yes. Email the Society folks and they'll fix. I had some bugs like that when the new site launched, they took a look and it's all good now.
