So... Anchorage's The Sacrifice just popped up on my feed. About the only thing I've been interested on there for months. Hadn't heard of this beer until now. Tavour is calling it a BA stout. But when you look into this beer it was foeder aged for 6 months and hit with coconut. And it's $40 for a 375ml. Don't get me wrong, I happily paid $40 for the recent batch of Coco Vibes when released, but it's also a 750ml. Am I missing something here? Also, Tavour is saying Blessed sold out in hours on Tavour. Pretty sure it was in my feed for multiple days. Pretty sure I'm gonna drink the beer I have in my fridge and go harvest my green chilies before the frost happens tonight and go about my day.
I think when blessed was released to the masses it sold out quickly but some people got it before the masses. I had my first bottle of blessed last night and it was every bit worth of the $50. Also given that people in the pacific region have been seeing it in shops there for $75 can’t complain about the price. edit. Went back in the thread. Looks like wendigo was the one that sold out quickly when released to the masses, but blessed was there for a few days one poster mentioned it being on his feed for 5 days
I'm not complaining about the price of Blessed here. I begrudgingly paid for it and agree it's an excellent beer. But it was also a blend of stouts aged 1-3 in bourbon barrels and hit with coconut and vanilla. This is a 6 month foeder aged beer hit with coconut and is a similar price. Also, not sure being a foeder aged beer really makes it a BA stout. I mean, I guess technically it does.

Anchorage doesn't even describe this as a barrel-aged beer. They describe it as aged on Missouri oak. This is per their Untappd entry and their FB posts. It's Tavour calling it a BA stout. Also, it was $20 at the brewery. Pretty sure they didn't double the price of Blessed, Ten, or Wendigo. And in case anyone is wondering, yes, I realize this is all kind of semantics and pretty dumb.
And they went back on this? That’s really poor. I deleted my app prior to Covid. It was too tempting and I just did not want to fall into a hole. How were the beers once they did arrive? Enjoy
I'm not paying %80 of the bill to find out that the 100 degree days ruined half my beers. It started out as me reaching out a week after my delivery status expressing my concerns about my package. Their response was "we are looking into it". A later email they sent indicated the package was lost but would eventually show up. I explained the weather situation to them and told them to keep their beers. At that point they advised me that I would receive a full refund and to keep the beers once they showed up. Two weeks later my shipping status finally updated, however favour reached out and said they could only discount the beer %20 and couldn't offer a guarantee that the beers would be drinkable or offer a refund if they suffered. Fuck that.
Box set to ship end of this week. After reading mixed reviews here I’ll be sure to report back when it arrives
They originally told you to keep the beers and refunded you. How are they Now offering 20% off at this point. I would tell them to fuck off and let them know everything will be posted on BA and other venues. As far as payment, I would tell my CC company they sent you shitty old spoiled beer and you don’t want to pay. At that point Tavour can come pick up their beer because I’m not hauling it to a shipper to send it back. Go back on your word and you started a war with me. I don’t back down and can become a pure asshole. Enjoy
I’m not sure which credit card company you have, and it’s not really any of my business, but I would totally call them and contest the charge. Or if they haven’t charged you block it. Perhaps the credit card company will have your back. (and I would reply to Tavour with a link to this thread).
Agreed, that is unacceptable and chargeback territory for sure. Or call/e-mail Tavour, threaten a chargeback unless they give you the full refund they promised. Just the threat of a chargeback might be enough for them to make it right.
I did receive a full refund. They contacted me when the beer was located and that was when they said they required me to purchase the beers. Just clarifying.
How are they “recommending” that you pay? It would seem they have the power or consent to charge your credit card at this point. Am I wrong?
The beers were lost for 3 weeks in temps that ranged between 25 to 101f. I asked for a refund. They offered for me to keep the beers unsolicited and later(2 weeks later and an offer to keep the beers even after a full refund was given) informed me I would need to pay for said beers. They informed me it is illegal for them to give beer away. They took the bottles back, hope they enjoy the wendigo and rusty nails. What gets me is they could not replace the missing bottles, and knowingly backed out of an unsolicited offer they made me. Would anyone here pay %80 of an already inflated cost for beers, some of which were ipas, that had been exposed to less than ideal temps?
