    Drove back to “mom’s” with youngest brother this morning. I’ve dropped him off at work and will collect him tonight. In the meantime, a late lunch beer - Angry Chair’s “Bullseye” a collab with Civil Society:

    A DIPA DH with strata, mosaic and galaxy...

    Canned 9/11/20. Fluffy one finger of white foam; hazy, milky gold color; good cap retention; medium heavy lacing; solid ring; yeast deposits in bottom of glass. Grapefruit and lemon nose on pour; catty as it warms to 55 degrees. Oniony skunky earthy hops up front; lemon peel but no bitterness; semi sweet citrus fruit/malt base. Slight hop burn on tip of tongue; no warmth from 8% abv; medium full body; moderate minus carbonation. Overall I’m not grooving on the skunky oniony linger; not exactly unpleasant, but definitely not for me...

    Hey, BA. The Mrs and I took off today. After much deliberation, we decided to head to our local watering hole for the first time since March. Right when they opened, we had the whole outdoor patio to ourselves. We were a bit apprehensive, but thankfully we were by ourselves the whole time.
    Started with a Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest

    Hau's Brauerei Waldmoor (Germany) - Hell.

    This makes for quite a hoppy Helles with some distinctly zesty citrus notes, which lend a certain, mild acidity to this. While that acidity probably isn't necessarily something that everyone looks for in a Helles, it's rather subtle and adds a pleasant, refreshing tangy note to the beer in my personal opinion. It's also interesting to note that is a top-fermenting Helles according to the label.

    According to wikipedia looks like Lady Gaga withdrew from the NYU arts school during her sophomore year... Guess my brother saw her during the couple of years she was there.

    Next beer for me today is a Daily Serving with pomegranate and blackberry from Trillium. Great fruited sour, I might prefer these lower abv offerings to the 7% abv Twice The Daily Serving beers just because of the lower alcohol and lighter body. It's a bit more refreshing to drink and showcases the fresh natural fruit flavors a little better I think. Cheers!
