Bruery RS/HS Allocations (2020)

I hope they're both as good! Looks like neither version this year is barrel aged though like the previous batch.

 

White Chocolate Warmer is drinking tremendously as we get punched in the throat by winter here in MN.

 

That throat punch weather was used by FedEx as the reason/excuse that they didn’t drop my BT 2020 Box today (after routing it through Chicago first, for no apparent reason). I am drinking a BT Samoa as a consolation. It is drinking quite nicely as well. The ABV still has some bite, but the adjuncts have rounded into a nice fudgey character.

 

American Copper has finally mellowed out after two years. Really smooth and very flavorful. Brandy is more forward than I recall, plus a lot of oak and Belgian yeastiness. I liked it before, I'm enjoying it more now!

I just opened Spicy Island last night and the pineapple has mellowed a tiny bit, but it's still nice and sweet. I think its' got a little more pepper heat than I remember. That got me thinking about Samoa only because I remember it being alcohol hot.

 

I opened a 2014 Mash Sunday night. It was full of big bold dark fruit flavors with no funk.

 

Drinking a 2012 Tart of Darkness right now. Pretty sure it hasn’t changed at all in the last 8 years. Amazing grape sweet tarts.

 

FedEx braved the elements and made the drop today. Liberty Stoutwich first up to the plate. Started with the one I was most skeptical about, and it is a pleasant surprise. Peanut adjuncts usually strike me as good-not-great, but the vanilla/marshmallow kicks this up and improves both the smell and flavor nicely. A noticeable step up from PB Thursday, in my estimation.

Wonder if they’d keep the glassware if I ordered a second. Don’t need even more, and they eat up shipper space...

 

I'm excited to also see a 3 Sons collab! Was just thinking when was the last time Bruery put out a Barleywine. If you exclude Mash, there have only been a couple others and almost no pilot batches that come to mind. Doesn't seem to be a favorite. Wonder if this base is Mash?

 

Probably a new base? I can't think of a colab with a brewery where all they contributed was adjunct.
