Starting up what is done on other sub-forums.

What's everyone's take on Muddy York? Since being here and in untappd, I've heard of them quite a bit.
Just placed my order with them today (free shipping over $50). I bought all the beers they have to try them all out.

Who has had them, what in your opinion is what they do well, what they don't do so well?

They are located in East York, Toronto & to my knowledge, they do not stock in the LCBO.

I have had the majority of these in the photo. This was quite some time ago. From what I remember they were decent. I would like to revisit. I haven't had a few of the IPAs. I will definitely have a look at your scores. Cheers.

Love MY. One of my locals.

They make great "classic" styles. Likely wont see pastry stouts or milkshakes coming out from them anytime soon.

I am pretty sure the Gaslight Helles is in the LCBO but I think thats it.

Good to hear! Going to try one out tonight. The weeks feel slow when you have a stocked fridge.

Great! Unfortunately, it'll only be on untappd. But it'll be rated none the less.

Curious. Why not rate here too?

Muddy York is great. As mentioned above, they do a lot of classic beers and do them well. The Switchboard Session IPA is probably the only session IPA I’ve actually enjoyed brewed in Ontario.

The historical stuff they have done is very interesting and their barrel aged Barleywines have been good. I haven’t had a bad beer from them.

It’s funny how the the northeastern part of the city is a bit of a beer wasteland. Other than Muddy York and The Granite there is nothing worth bothering with until you get to Whitby.

Black Opal and Prost! are nice. The former is quite good in my opinion and the latter is just so rare here as a style that it is nice to see it as a recurring offering.

Town, 5 Paddles and Little Beasts in Whitby. Highly recommend.

    I ocassionly hit Common Good.

Agree on Little Beasts. Everything is solid. Town has really gotten good at the hazy IPAs. I’m hoping their other styles follow suit. 5 Paddles is really hit or miss for me. And more miss than hit lately. A few of their stouts I’ve had recently were really uninspiring. I have always liked the basil beer though. Unique and tasty... if you like basil.

I haven’t been to Common Good in a long time. I should give them another try. Early on, their beers were not enjoyable and in some cases tasted nothing like the style noted on the can. I drive by so often, I will stop in some time soon.

Ive tried Common Good a few times and have had about the same results. Beer is okay but nothing spectacular.

The sociable pils is decent enough for macro-drinkers that are coming over for a visit.

I cant remember the name of their brown ale but it is about the best thing ive had of theirs.

The prost! Dunkweizen I really enjoyed. One of the top I've had, esp in North America.

I've liked everything they have done so far. Stout was the most lack luster, but it's still good.
They brew stellar takes on the classics and european styles. It's very refreshing to have a brewery not offering only IIPAs or 37 Hazy IPAs.

Only thing I've had from them was Haberdasher Hefe and it was a solid near 4 Hefe for me, so I would be interested in other offerings they'd offer. I would be certainly interested in a Dunkelweizen if they brew one.

Working Hard IPA is in LCBO's now (at least a little south and west of Toronto) Excellent IPA.

You're in luck then. Prost! is their dunkelweizen and it's fantastic.

Falcon Brewing in Ajax has a few good brews and has a speciality one off series not widely advertised. You have to just pop in a check on it.

    Thanks.

I’ve had some Falcon a couple times. I have to be honest and say that I have never had a beer I would drink again. Everything hoppy was really under hopped. Malty beers tasted like candy sugar. It has been over a year since I last gave them a try, but they are probably my least favourite brewery in the Province now that Trafalgar, Oshawa Brewing Company and Practically Irish are no more.

All or Nothing in Oshawa has surprisingly been pumping out some decent overings. Have a look next time near.

Funny enough, All or Nothing was Trafalger prior to a name change/rebranding. They were notoriously bad and due to that, I always skip over All or Nothing due to that history.
