Needed to see what all the fuss was about, so I grabbed a 4 pack this morning. Founders Maple Mackinac Fudge KBS. Imperial stout w/ Mackinac fudge coffee, maple syrup, and chocolate aged in bourbon barrels. Fresh KBS already came off very chocolate-forward to me, so the addition of the flavored coffee really hits that home and lends notes of rich, dense, and sweet Mackinac fudge. In addition to the fudge, get big milk and dark chocolate, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, maple syrup, coffee roast, roasted malts, slight espresso, caramel, vanilla, slight marshmallow, smooth bourbon, oak tannin. It’s sweet, but the oak tannins and bourbon dry the beer out nicely on the finish. Great robust and creamy mouthfeel as usual by these guys. I’m a big fan of this one.

Persimmon Hollow Brewing, Deland FL, this is a great stop if you're in the area. Gypsy Shocker neipa and Laketime Lager.

 

One of the best IPAs there are in my opinion. One of the best breweries also. Cheers to a lazy Sunday.

Hoppin' Frog T.O.R.I.S. The Tyrant RIS, 13.8% ABV. Pours thick and black, with a slight brown head. Nose is coffee, taste is coffee and chocolate, moderate to heavy bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent.
