I am very excited about this Schwarzbier becoming available in cans recently. My father turned 80 back in September. He introduced me on to good beer and we have some great connections around beer. His favorite beers are dark German versions. He loves Kostritzer Schwarzbier. Arches Brewing came out with Black Gold a couple of years ago in the tap room. I emailed their brewmaster and begged him to put in cans. He said he thought they will soon. Finally, they put this out there this fall. I don't know how many of you have a connection with your fathers and beers; but I do with my dad. I can't wait to give him some Black Gold. It's excellent! Drinking some right now.

In honor of father, so Blueberry Hill, one of his favorites. So thankful to have you around! Can't wait to share a brew with you on Thanksgiving.

If you're looking for a traditional IPA that hits all the notes, give this one a look. It's criminally underrated on here. Peace...

I remember the heady days of a decade or so ago when Rogue was regularly in my market with big bottles of high quality Stouts/Porters/IPA's. Good times indeed. These days, it's basically Dead Guy, which is very good but never really excited me. So, imagine my surprise when I did my big beer run today and came across Coast Haste Imperial Hazy IPA. This is the first Rogue beer I've had since Rogue Farms 10 Hop IPA three odd years ago, and that was while traveling rather than in my market. As for the beer, it's very good, but less distinctive than my experiences of a decade or more ago due I think to the rise of so many other breweries of equivalent or superior quality. At least that's my take. I have read about some employment issues surrounding the brewery, but have always done my best to avoid the morally slippery slope of equating the producer of a product with the product itself. I mean, Van Morrison is just a cranky prick, but that doesn't prevent him from being one of my favorite artists. Oh yeah, I also own an iPad. Cheers.

Herd is the Word the newest IPA from Twin Elephant. I don't normally buy a 4 pack without having a pint first but I trust this brewery when it comes to IPA's. That trust is well placed another home run. More about it in NBW Saturday.

Definitive's Vanilla Dome - Blueberry in my glass. Exactly a week old and tasting awesome. If you are in New England and love blueberry muffins and have ever wondered what a liquid one that gets you buzzed would taste like, this would be the right choice to pour and enjoy!

I wish I could share that sentiment, truly. I have had 99.8% of all the hype NEIPA breweries, and I was standing in line for beer before it became a thing. Not bragging, just stating facts. I have yet to be blown away by Twin Elephant. What am I missing? Peace...

Drinking another from the "reject" beers I ordered. This is the first one (out of 9 so far) that is disappointing. And its only crime is that it is not as good as the normal Blech.brut. Still a pretty good beer,
