While I don’t like the format as much, the can art looks fantastic.

I get the occasional Odell IPA and 90 shilling in 16'ers as singles. But I have no clue where they sell multiples of this size.

Anybody try the new Titian? Couldn't care less about the OG, so I'm kind interested in trying the new one. I think it's funny how close to the chest they are with their beer info but whatever.

There's a new Titan? Hadn't heard about this.

Yeah, they talk about it on their FB page. I'm not savvy enough to share a FB link on BA, but it's there. Not much info though.

I might be the only person who still likes Titan, although I really only drink it on tap at bars/restaurants. I bet I haven't had a bottle/can in 5 years. It'll be interesting to see what they change about it. To me it's pretty similar to Dale's right now.

Agree 100%. Picked up a mix pack since that's the freshest Odell IPA I could find and Wolf Picker was on point. Better than I remember it last year.

Sorry - I haven’t logged on in a while. The switch was 100% motivated by the can shortage but since we were changing formats we also took the opportunity to change up the branding a bit.
In august, we were faced with major uncertainty about our ability to obtain 12 oz cans in late 2020 and early 2021. No cans means no sales, which would have meant no Odd13. While supply isn’t completely guaranteed, 16 oz are slightly more available to us.

Some folks on various platforms have mentioned pricing. Our costs go up every year and every few years we need to raise prices. We decided in July to increase prices for 12 oz cans, but that required a 3 month notice with our distributors for contractual reasons. It was in August that we made the decision to change to 16 oz because of the shortage. The lead times for 16 oz cans and the change to the canning line would have had us changing over in November. We ended up pushing out the price increase until the 16 oz launch because changing prices and then changing to 16 oz a month later would have created major issues with our distributors and retailers.

This had the unfortunate effect of consumers assuming it was purely price motivated. It was not. The price increase was coming anyway.

    Hope this helps.

I’ve seen a couple of articles on Black IPA’s making a comeback lately, and I’ve been pretty intrigued (black ipa’s > neipa haha). Outside of Stone’s bringing back of SSR has anyone seen any others out there? Specifically CO ones? Used to love Odell’s.

Bring back the real Mountain Standard! Loved that beer so much. Seems like the Denver Odell taproom occasionally has a black ipa on tap.

As great as the OG Mountain Standard was, I absolutely love the new version...

I’ll also add the OB Tropical Can of Bliss as possibly my new favorite beer.

These two are great examples of how the big bois have caught up/surpassed the small bois in the haze game (even though the taste the same lol)

Baere does their War & Peace Report every year, which is a Black IPA and is amazing. But it is only on tap or in crowlers usually. Not 100% sure, but I think they make it in the late fall? I had some late last year but can't remember when exactly. I used to dislike black IPAs, but Baere's really changed my mind about that. Now I'd definitely like to try some more. I think Comrade does one once and a while too? I can't think of any packaged ones available from CO though. I hope it does make a comeback.

Westword has mention of Luki Brewing in Arvada releasing a black IPA tomorrow. Never been there, so can't say whether it will be any good.

I've been there once and despite the somewhat kitchy theme they have some pretty solid beers. Staff was also super nice and accommodating FWIW.

We’ve made one, Black Cascade, every year, and I just brewed this year’s batch today, so we’ll have cans of it soon.
