I missed out on my Hump Day beer, so I am having my post-Hump Day? beer. I really hate crowlers. I spill EVERY time I open and EVERY time I pour out of one. Unfortunately, it's the only way to get some of your local beers that aren't bottled or canned to take home. This is NoFo Brew Co.'s North Rim Rye IPA 6.5% abv. IMO rye is an underrated ingredient. It seems to add some body and silkiness to the malt bill. I love Creature Comforts Reclaimed Rye Amber Ale. This Rye IPA isn't too bad. Not a favorite, but I like having it every once in a while for a change of pace. I got this one after my son and I did a brewery tour one day back in December. Cheers, here's to Friday coming up!

This beauty of a Double IPA is so damn tasty and it's best by date is 12/17/20??? Never mind that shit! KING SUE Rocks. It was expensive to get but well worth it. Part of my $87 six pack.

It’s very interesting what’s happening with GameStop and Blackberry stock, with a bunch of retail longs trying to go against the industry shorts. Some people are going to get really burned on this. In fact, it’s starting today.

Beer three is an Ontario IPA from Wellington Brewery in Guelph. 6.8% and 58 IBU. A nice one. Cheers.

Yep. The server explained to me why they do it that way, to minimize oxidation. But dang it makes a mess! I tried the trick you can use with the old big cans of juice where you make a whole with a pointed end bottle opener on the opposite side from the premade opening. Nope, didn't help. Still spilled every where.

 

I'm glad tomorrow is Friday though it's supposed to be pretty frigid around here.

Poured from a 16 ounce can into an IPA glass.

Look- Pale gold, frothy white head, hazy, average head retention and lacing.

Smell- Peach, earthy, grassy, apricot.

Taste- Very earthy/herbaceous, peach, apricot, tart finish.

Feel- Between thin and medium body, low bitterness, astringent finish, slightly creamy, average carbonation.

Overall- Flavor was predominantly earthy and body was thinner than expected.

First beer of 2021! I decided to take a dry January to lose a bit of weight... but I just got a delivery of some incredible beers, it's been 28 days, and it's not my fault that January is more than 4 weeks! Plus, you're supposed to drink these fresh, right?
