Would that perhaps be Roger Wilco you're talking about?

Great, now I have a new mission: tick a beer from Mayberry.

I don't know any place in Mt Airey that cans or bottles their beers. I’m not even sure if they do Growlers.

They had 32oz growlers on their website. I've got a friend in Asheville, and she already offered to drive up there. I told her to wait until she's out road trippin' sometime. No sense making a 5 hour round trip drive for a couple smol growlers.

That’s where the World’s Fair and Nashville beers came from, lol.

As most everywhere plenty of dumb laws and people in France, but no stupid laws regarding alcohol or beer I can think of.

Unlike some US states you can drink from age 18 and buy whatever booze of your choice a Sunday (that said, this is socialist Europe and some here don’t feel like working this day ).

I can think of gas stations which for some of them anyway prohibit alcohol sales past 6pm but I can understand this one. No one wants an idiot drunk driving on the highway. That said, we do have groceries selling alcohol until late in the night (2-3am). I just don’t go there anymore because I’ve became an early bedtime dude and second because it’s too damn steep.

I believe both of the breweries I visited (White Elephant and Thirsty Souls) do crowlers. I’m positive on White Elephant and 90% sure on Thirsty Souls.

2 breweries in town as well (across the street from each other about a block off Main St.).

I looked through the thread, not much on Utah.

The was an article a while back by a pro brewer titled "Brewing Behind the Mormon Curtain". Utah is not a Theocracy, but as close as we have in the US. Since Mormons don't drink Alcohol, the laws make it difficult for the Gentiles.

Draft beer is 4% ABV tops. That was what the article was about, brewing flavorful 4% beers.

Anything stronger had to be packaged. It was sold to the State Stores. If the Brewery wanted to have a stronger beer to serve, they would buy it back. I've had regular strength IPA in a brewery, out of a bottle.

If you wanted stronger drinks, there were the private clubs. A membership was required, and someone had to vouch for you. There was no problem getting approved by a random customer, and short term memberships were not too expensive way back when.

I could go on about more weirdness on beers in Utah, but it is time to eat.

Only Thirsty Souls was listed here under places (Hint, Hint).

EDIT: Never mind, I just submitted it.

EDIT EDIT: Ooopsie, I'm an idiot.

White Elephant is here and has been listed since 2016 and rated/reviewed a few times.

I remember a few years back driving through Belgium/Netherlands on the limited access highways and stopping at various rest stops for food/gas/restrooms - you could buy beer but you couldn't take it outside the building - you had to drink it before you exited. Chug-a-lug!

The keyword there might be "first wife"

He didn't say "new wife", so the implication is that she was, at least, "gently used". Only to church on Sundays.

Georgia has an ABV cap on beer. You can by a 5th of Jack (40% ABV) but god forbid you want a bomber of a 16% ABV Barrel Aged Imperial Stout .

Haha, "used" for sure describes my thoughts about myself in that marriage, and not gently, although I'm sure she would say the same. Hard to tell if someone is going to turn into a hard core, morning to night alkie, but noticing almost everyone else in her family is that kind of drunk should give one pause.
