Burgers tonite (bacon, cheese, avocado, grilled pineapple, etc. topped with cole slaw), per the request of the birthday boy (son) plus beer #2 ( a rarity for me, especially in bomber format)....yeah, I got a little over zealous in the bun toasting on the grill for my bun, but the others were spot on, so all is good. 1/2 lb for me, 3/4 lb for son. Wife clocked in at a mere 1/4 lb....hers looked like a slider in comparison.

I originally traded for it because people used to rave about this one, but I soon learned that I don't care for cherry beers. Maybe it's those Nordic cherry wine barrels, but I am thoroughly enjoying this one. Considerate acidity, saturated, with a nice underlying candied cherry jammy quality, and a thin thread of rustic farmhouse dustiness, and a hearty, but soft malt platform. Easily one of the nicest cherry ales I've had so far. Recently drank The Bluest, and that was monumental. I'm quickly growing quite fond of de Garde. I need to open more of them!

Yes. That was my plan, but just kept drinking it. Be more disciplined than me!

An absolutely wonderful beer and perhaps a bit of dessert whiskey to pair with it. Not sure how this will go but a sip will tell. Idea courtesy of the German guy at the beverage emporium.

Bell's Amber Ale & Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey

Updated Edit: Oh my that is a dessert whiskey that is pretty darn tasty. Might be best with a stout, although this is not bad.

Think this will be my last? Hot tub time, a balmy 41 out there. DFH 90 Minute IPA in the new packaging, this is pretty good. I picked this up in Mizzou today, wasn't sure I was going to see it down here. Most of their stuff is rotting on the shelves/fridges here. Just like when I encountered them in Colorado many moons ago, bloody pricy.

And the way you described that puts it right in my wheelhouse for those types of beers. Stellar.

That Skrewball doesn't stand great on its own. Get it going with a solid Imp Stout or even Robust Porter, that is a winner to me

I stand corrected, I have one more in me. Wasn't as warm as I hoped. Southwind blowing enough to make me feel that melting snow, temp dropped fast in the tub. Going DFH again, Siracusa Nera Red Wine/Bourbon Barrel Stout with 90 Proof Bulliet Frontier Bourbon

Forgot how good this guy is

I am learning, thanks for the tip. Just had a tiny sip followed by Dirty Bastard and that is tasty.

I think when I buy a regular bottle, I'll give it a try with some Yeti that is lurking in the back of the fridge. EDIT UPDATE: I am already bored with that whiskey, too sweet. At least it was an interesting experiment.

Founders- Dirty Bastard- Scotch Style Ale.
