Beer no. 3, before getting ready to go out for an early dinner with the Mrs. I still have a few Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzens around. Still spicy and grainy. Still good head retention. Still drinks exceptionally well. German beers are still a favorite of mine. Terrible pic :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Cheers folks!

Arches is my fave ATL area brewery. In other news, looks like Forsyth and Hall counties now have Deschutes.

Has Ironmonger gotten better? They seemed to go through rough patch with quality a few years ago. I haven't had anything from them in a while now.

So, apparently Three Floyd’s has hit NoVa. My purchases are all chilling for a blind tasting, but I can already tell by just placing the Zombie Dust into the fridge that it isn’t the same beer as that one bottle I had... three years ago. Most likely a recipe change.

    I hope I didn’t spoil it for myself

Right now I’m finishing off a decent ESB from Fromt Royal Brewing, Shooting Brakes:

White Elm Sometimes You Don't Imperial Milk Stout, 9% ABV. Pours black with a ring of brown bubbles on a careful taproom pour. Nose is chocolate milk and coconut. Taste follows, plus cocoa, moderately sweet, slightly bitter. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

Oh yeah. I love those guys. Mexican Empire is my favorite beer from them. Tucker Brewing has closed the gap in terms of good quality lagers, but I still think Arches is the most under appreciated brewery in the Southeast. And yes, I saw Deschutes Black Butte Porter in McFarland Beer & Wine yesterday. Almost bought some, but was not really looking for Porter at the time. On my list though.

I think the Seuss people were stopping the publishing of a handful of books on their own, if I recall correctly.

This is a 6 out of 10. The Southside lager is way better.

First go at Rhinegeist. Truth, their WCIPA. It’s pleasant, light in terms of taste and strength. It’s ok, but nothing I’d hunt down. Appreciate the free promo shaker pint glass. I crown this a solid Light WCIPA, but would seek others for a full WCIPA flavor.

I didn't want to dump on them because I know these breweries work hard at what they do. I had their German pils a few years ago and I could tell they were struggling. Haven't revisited them since.
