Saw a black ipa today from Maxline and was inspired to try it because of this thread... reminded me of OG mountain standard.

    highly recommended

Crooked Stave "New West Coast Style" Idaho 7 India Pale Ale seemed to have evaporated out of my glass in less than 5 minutes...better go out to the beer fridge and get another one. Or two.

Finally tried the new Titan. Apparently any cans dated past mid-January are the new one. It reminds me of New Belgium's Rampant. Remember that one? Malt backbone and a mix of berry- tinged hops and some old school earthy/bitter hops. It's milder (at least the ABV), but is otherwise similar. I liked the old one, but this one is cool. I guess time will tell if people flock to it.

We got a drop of Crooked Stave beers Tuesday, that was not one of them.
I saw 6packs of New Zealand Style Kiwi India Pale Ale. Any thoughts on that one? I only saw 1 review.

I got a sixer of it sometime back. It didn't leave a big impression on me, but I remember it was enjoyable. Probably worth picking up if you wanna taste some NZ hops. Solid beer.

    Thanks!
Maybe I can pick up a single at a store or drink one at Old Chicago if they bring it in.

Not sure how many people care, but I bought some of the rebranded Boulder Hazed & Infused and was sorely disappointed by it. I know the brand has bounced around a little bit, but apparently it's managed by Stem Ciders and brewed at Sleeping Giant.
Anyway, it's not the same beer at all. It isn't even an attempt to be similar. Hazed and Infused used to be a mild'ish red/amber that was dry hopped with boatloads of centennial hops.
This new one is a random hazy pale ale. It isn't awful, but it's not particularly good, either. There's also nothing unique about it at all. It's just another random ultra-pale ale with suspended yeast/particulates and new school hops. I hate when brands do this. Just call it something else. I bought a mix 12'er and regret it already. There's another new beer in there called "Bubbly By Nature" that seems to be a mix of this new version Hazed and seltzer. It's downright awful. At least Shake seems to be more or less the same. I haven't tried Mojo yet. Anyway, buyer beware if you liked the old Hazed.

Btw, probably doesn't need to be said, but Hoplaunch from La Cumbre is fantastic. One of the few places that keeps putting out quality WCIPAs amid the sea of hazies on the shelves.

Yeah it's funny, I thought about giving this beer a shout-out when I tasted it about 6 weeks ago. But I'm just so spoiled and frankly expecting WCIPA greatness from La Cumbre at this point, fair or not. I tasted HopLaunch and was like "yep its awesome, just like I expected."

I'm so glad they still pump out beers like this regularly.

Same. Every time I get something from them, I am extremely happy with the choice... to the point where I just assume everyone knows that they are going to be getting an amazing beer, so I forget to bring them up.

While deviating from the thread title slightly, I think the two best packaged IPA's on our shelves come from out of state. At least not counting the 1-off West Coast All-Stars items from Westbound. Some of those are serious business.
La Cumbre Elevated and Breakside IPA are just plain killer and they tend to be fresh.

Yeah, Breakside is probably my #1 WC IPA that's regularly available in CO. Love the 6.2% ABV too. Elevated has never done much for me, though I've always liked it, but maybe I should revisit. Only Finkel & Garf's IPA and that Upslope Experimental IPA w/ the Orange Blossom Honey spent as much or maybe more time in my fridge last year.

I actually never did since they're only a state away . We'd head down to Santa Fe for a long weekend and I'd bring a bunch back, though.

The only bad thing I'll say about Elevated is related to Old Chicago. Be careful ordering it there. It's a permanent fixture on their menu, but I think they only restock those cans once in a blue moon. I've ordered two of 'em that were pretty old at the Aurora location and have been wary about trying again.

Currently we live in Idaho and I'm used to Idaho and Oregon IPAs: Sockeye's Dagger Falls; Bridgeport's Hop Czar; Deschute's Inversion; Payette's Rustler and Recoil and the like. We'll be moving to Colorado later this year and I'm hoping to find a comparable local IPA to quench my thirst, something above 90 IBUs. Most CO IPA's I've tried I found to be OK to good, but not memorable. Although years ago I had a Double IPA from Breckenridge that was outstanding, but it was a winter seasonal and extremely expensive (the restaurant where I had it charged $12 for a 12 oz bottle! - worth it - I had 2!).
