Yes, in order to get as many people as possible the first shot as quickly as possible, Ontario has decided to give second doses after four months instead of the much shorter interval suggested by vaccine manufacturers. This stems in part from the overall mismanagement of the entire process in Ontario specifically and Canada in general. It’s good news for those who are keen for vaccines but not so much for those who have no interest or intention of receiving the shots. Cheers.

It makes some sense to me, because I hear a lot of people complaining that they want the vaccine and can't get it, and I've also seen that even if the vaccine isn't 90% effective against the virus, they still usually protect against death and hospitalization, so even having one dose may be protective enough for most people, and after receiving a dose your potential immunity lasts longer, so if you can get a second dose after some time, you may potentially have immunity for a longer time after that given dose, so I can see that making sense, though here they seem pretty adamant on giving the people who received a first dose vaccine a second dose within a 4 week timeframe, yet the new J&J vaccine is a 1 shot dose that is less effective overall than the 2 shots from the other manufacturers, yet still protective enough from death and hospitalization, so, I guess that works? I'm no expert, so not really sure lol. Cheers!
