Hi all, I'm relocating to northern Mississippi, Golden Triangle area, near Tuscaloosa in the next month. I'm hoping to get some direction to a bottle shop(s) within an hour or so drive if possible. Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Brewski's in Starkville has a few craft selections, but it's mainly standard fare. The do have Stone Fear Movie Lions and a few other rated beers, so it beats nothing. Kroger in Starkville. from time to time, has a few good ones to select from. Hops and Habanas in Jackson closed down, so options for the east central part of the state are slim, sadly.
As a local resident of the Golden Triangle area I can highly recommend Smokestack in West Point as one of the best beer stores in the State. That view is widely shared among Beer Reps I've talked to as well. Smokestack carries the full range of craft beers stocked by local distributors and gets a few periodic shipments of Belgian beers through a hookup with Merchant du Vin. Also, Smokestack sells most of their beers as singles so mix and match purchases are encouraged.
