This beer is particularly special as I had the chance to help package this beer into cans and kegs, and I also helped with brewing the latest batch of this brewery’s flagship 1877 Irish Red Ale. I may just become a brewer myself yet.

    Thanks!

I was a bit surprised by it - it went a bit beyond being inoffensive into mildly enjoyable, even though there isn't a whole lot to it. Might do a side-by-side with my last one and a German lager at some point this weekend to see how much it is missing

I've been "hunting," i.e., driving long distances and standing in line before it was popular to get some of these hype beers that drive the new drinkers crazy. If you've been around for a minute, you've seen me drinking a lot of that BS. When I get worn the f*ck out, which happens often, you can find me leaning on Head Hunter, a world-class beer (in every way possible) from Fat Head's. Another occasional go-to is Sip of Sunshine from Lawson's Finest; before the revamp it was Stone IPA. I like to mix things up constantly, but at the end of the day, it's all IPA driven. Head Hunter is probably the best answer I can give in terms of an old reliable. Peace...
P.S. When I spend my summers at the Massachusetts fortress, it's Tree House. That's all I need, truly.

Saint Arnold Double Down, and excellent Imperial IPA

With some John Coltrane to help with gloomy, stormy day. Transition, recorded about 5 months after A Love Supreme but not released till well after his death. Its incredible.

Funny play on the name for an ESB, especially for a TX brewer. Do they also have a WTI IPA?

Tree House. No surprise there. I've not had the occasion to enjoy Tree House, but I know they have a great reputation. I'll admit, I have not enjoyed Stone. Seems like they got carried away by the IBU craze, but I am not a major IPA drinker. I can appreciate a very well balanced IPA like Sweetwater or, my personal favorite, Creature Comforts Tropicalia. But Tree House, I'd like to try that sometime. Peace and cheers!

I opened the fridge and a can of Head Hunter literally jumped straight into my hand and glued itself there. I guess I'm not drinking anything else at present. No argument here. Funny that it relaxed its grip the second I started pouring. Peace...

OG Lemon Haze from Alpine Beer. Truly is the OG. I'm the first review. I guess when they change the recipe in a few years, they'll just call it Lemon Haze and we'll lament the OG. Cheers and happy Friday!

Maybe they'll call it OG Lemon Haze v1.1 or OG Lemon Haze 2.0.

I've always said: If you do something right the first time, there's no need to mess with it.
