Looks like I may be taking a road trip from Philly to Dallas. I would like to pick up some beer on the way home. Looks like I-30 to I-40 (thru Arkansas/Tennessee) to I-81 (VA/WV/MD/PA) is the route I would be taking.

I know about Southern Grist and Bearded Iris in Nashville and Brothers Craft in Virginia. Are there any breweries along my route that I should hit for cans?

I might be taking that same road trip in July from Charlottesville VA. What kind of beer do you like? I have been to Bearded Iris (and plan to stop again) and loved their beer and I have been to Brothers Craft beer (and don’t plan on stopping again) and didn’t think it was that good. Other than Resolute that put them on the map a few years ago. Basic City about 15 minutes off of I81 is making some really good beer right now and don’t sleep on Yellow Rose while you are in Texas. That is a really good IPA. I plan on bringing a bunch of that back with me to share with friends. Safe travels

IPA's, sours and stouts. When I went down to Nashville for the Eagles game I dropped $814 before I checked into the hotel just buying beer from BI and SG. I figured I would stop at Brothers Craft b/c it is right off 81 so i can hope off/on real quick.

If you are stopping in Harrisonburg I would suggest taking a look at what pale fire brewing has to offer. I went to both the same day a few years ago and I thought pale fire’s beers were much better. And I am going to take a look at SG before I go. I did not know about them last time thru Nashville. I loved the BI beer.

Brothers in Harrisonburg doesn't have anything to blow you away IMO and really is known because of Resolute which isn't as hard to get as it used to be. I believe they even have some of last year's variants in bottles still available to go from the brewery. Daylight Cravings and Drunken Mornings are actually pretty solid too.

If you are cutting across 66 to get to 81 here's a few VA recommendations based on my travels. Not all of them have cans/bottles for sale I don't think but most should at least do Crowlers. if you are looking to have a flight or so when you visit then definitely would check some of them out or research which ones may have stuff to go. All of them are convenient to 66/81 so not very far out of the way

    - Settle Down Easy (Falls Church, Va)
    - Eavesdrop (Centreville)
    - Restless Moons (Harrisonburg, Va)
    - Friendly Fermenter (Harrisonburg, Va)
    - Redbeard (Staunon, Va)
    - Basic City (Waynesboro, Va) as @lrainey said, about 15 min detour but definitely worth the stop. Their hazy IPAs are up there with Veil, Commonwealth, Answer and Benchtop IMO
    - Heliotrope (Lexington, Va)
    - Olde Salem Brewing (Salem, Va)

You'll be passing right through Knoxville, TN - A couple recommended spots that are killing it (on Bearded & SG level)

    XUL - Stouts & Hazy
Albright Grove - Used to be a head-brewer at Goose prior to buyout. IPA/Sout/Belgians

McScrooges Liquor store is right off I-40 and carries great local selection including the two above plus Bearded & Southern

Looks like I will definitely hit:

    Southern Grist
    Bearded Iris
    Albright Grove
    Xul
    Basic City

Then, depending on time (prob will not be able to hit them all)
    Restless Moons
    Friendly Fermenter
    Brothers Craft
    Pale Fire
