Don't let anyone see you with that Budweiser, if you are currently in Wisconsin! You may get some very stern glances!

    Good evening everyone.
By next week I hope to find the time to put together a photographic "summary" (and I'm not a photographer) of my recent visit to the Tre Fontane Abbey (the only Italian Trappist brewery.
Meanwhile, before going out again, I greet you with this

Birrificio Cane di Guerra (Piemonte, ITA) - BERLINER WEISSE (3.2%)

Already drunk several times ... I love it this season.
    33 cl. Bottle
    "Best before: 22/05/2022".
On the nose very light salty, lactic notes (sweat, almost... to understand)
When poured it is pale yellow, shy, veiled and the foam is abundant and evanescent like that of a Prosecco.
In the mouth, very fresh and fast beer: the right carbonation to accompany a drink characterized by a delicate sour note, almost brackish and a finish in which the hint of wheat emerges in the background.
Even a very slight contribution from some spice that I can't quite identify (coriander maybe ...).
Definitely faithful to the original German style of reference (dating back to the sixteenth century), therefore without the addition of fruit or other evolutions taken in the future (and in any case notable when come well).

A - Murky straw/gold with a 1-finger white head that drops quickly leaving very little lace.

S - Massive fresh pineapple, papaya, lime, mint and grassy/herbal spice.

T - Mélange of tropical fruit (including coconut) and grassy/herbal/vegetal gooey hop bud. Towards the finish there's some fresh orange juice and mint that appear alongside the not-very-bitter hop bomb goodness. There some alcohol sweetness but no burn.

M - Medium-full body and light-medium carbonation. Fairly dry finish but some citrus sweetness remains, which I'm enjoying.

O - Not a typical NEIPA. The coconut is a surprise. There's very little aspirin/yeast flavors that I get in many NEIPA and while there's some here, these flavors are very subdued. It leans towards a non-malty West Coast DIPA enough to please my senses. It's very good and worth checking out.

I took a 7+ mile hike in the woods and earned enough calories to enjoy this high ABV brew with a clear conscious; but what indulgent music to go along with it? I know . . . Vanilla Fudge

Another miserable, raw, rainy day here in Central MA. Took a page from @SABERG and decided to cook up a batch of chili for dinner. Tossed in a Carolina Reaper courtesy of @tasterschoice62.

Even though it's not Autumn, although it feels more like fall here - rainy day music.

Hop Butcher Diamond Nights American Wheat w/ mango and dragonfruit (Citra/Motueka). I could drink this one all day, especially out on a beach. Sweet, juicy mango and tart dragonfruit meld nicely with the crisp and hoppy wheat ale base.

I had an awesome time in Chicago yesterday. Definitely felt a sense of normalcy, but at the same time there were plenty of safety precautions put in place which was good. Lots of good beer and food was enjoyed at Revolution and Haymarket. Revolution’s barrel program is just ridiculous.

I took advantage of the pleasant weather here to do a gravel ride, then unboxed and set up a new TV. Stretch goals for the weekend achieved.

I drove out to Monetta, SC to ride gravel roads. They are already harvesting peaches there. It's all peaches there. A tremendous amount of peaches.

From a pint cn with no date marking but since this beer was only just released a couple weeks ago it should be very fresh.

Pours into my tulip glass a fully opaque pineapple juice color with a big foamy tan head. Well laced.

Scent is tangerines, pineapple juice, Orange Julius (remember those?) with just a hint of a spicy oniony hop note in the background.

Taste is a muddled tropical fruit mix - guava, mangoes, pineapple. A hint of bread crust; only the briefest suggestion. A touch of that oniony dank note I love so much. Only a touch though. Nice bitterness builds as I sip.

Mouth is creamy but with a mildly astringent finish.

With the turbid opaque appearance this seems more like a NEIPA or a Hazed IPA than it does a traditional IPA but no matter. It is quite a delicious beer either way
