What is the Three Floyds reference? Do you recall its slogan "It's Not Normal"? Without any more adjectives, I query, "Can we now schedule the next Beer Advocate bottle share?" The Forbidden Root thread has been closed. I know I have an acerbic relationship with other BA forum members, so I believe I am the proper person to query this. If somebody opts to assail me for asking this, they can; I will pay no heed. I have a bunch of 'bomber' bottles, some of which have been in the refrigerator since February 2020, and cases of the Unibroue 2019 Vintage Spiced Ale (bought at Trader Joe's) which are sitting in the queue to be savored by other patrons in northeast Illinois. So, in June 2021, can this happen? If so, please elucidate.
I think he may mean COVID and the pandemic “is not Normal” ? He wants to have a bottle share? Not sure thou.
So if Indiana is fully reopened and Illinois is set to today and the free state of Chicago is following IL’s lead, what the hell is 3 Floyds plan? I love them to death, but if I wanted to support a production brewery resting on their laurels I would have consumed Bud or Sam Adams the past 20 years. At the very least they have to put out crowlers, growlers or packaged one offs from the kiosk each week to keep things interesting if they aren’t going to reopen the pub.
I'm super confused by the Brewpub closure now that the kiosk is back open. The Brewpub was the destination people went to. They'd get a good meal, have a few drafts, and leave with beer from the kiosk. It's the reason the new hotels popped up around the industrial park. The brewpub (and Dark Lord) were driving the beer tourism to Munster. I don't see very many people driving out of their way to go to the kiosk just to buy beer that 95% of are on the shelves in Chicago. I hope they have a plan, I've been making that stop at least once a year for over a decade, and I don't see much of a point anymore.
It doesn’t help their case that most of the stuff on shelves is getting dusty. Last time I was looking to pick up some alpha king it was over 2 months old, easy pass for me
