Oh, and to answer the OP question, I've been enjoying the heck out of Odell's Mountain Standard lately. It's just been a nice one for quenching that post mountain bike ride thirst. Though I'm also just as likely / regularly grabbing for a 6er of Insane Rush (bunny beer FTMFW), St. Lupulin (highly underrated or just unknown IMNSHO), Modus Hoperandi, or WtFO Double IPA. My fiancée really likes Eddyline (Crank Yanker and Epic Day) and while I also like them quite a bit, I don't find myself drinking them as often as I've noticed there's something about EL beers that gives me a headache the next day if I have more than one.

Just cracked a Crystal Mountain from TRVE. Good stuff as per the usual. Feels like a turned up exhumed. Digging the Citra in this one.

Headed to Denver for a wedding this weekend, any new IPAs I should be seeking out? I moved 5 years ago, know about newer places like Outer Range and Knotted Root but not all of the new stuff.

Those are the main two that have hit the scene recently. Comrade, Cannonball, Weldwerks, S26, TRVE, etc. are all still putting out great IPA's as always, too. Not CO, but the Breakside cans on our shelves have been only a couple weeks old as of late.

If you’ve not had Woods Boss, worth a visit or seeking out a 4pk at the store.

Peculier Ales up in Windsor is another fantastic hazy brewery. Opened by a former Weldwerks brewer. (Also not super far from Greeley if you're in that area anyway.) They just got done with a collab with the CO:NE IPA group on Facebook that is A+ imo.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but Dry Dock is the Brewery Of The Month at Grapevine which means that Hop Abomination is going for $6.99 a six pack, plus tax. If you're in, or close to, the neighborhood, this seems to merit a stop.

This deal has given me the chance, to the extent of about a case and a half so far this month, to get re-acquainted with an old, non-hazy friend...

Ended up bringing home some Outer Range In The Steep, Cerebral DDH Strange Claw and Authentic Expression. All excellent, especially the first two

I made my second visit to Knotted Roots on Saturday and was once again blown away with both the beers, and the overall atmosphere. That bar is just such a fun place to sit, especially on a busy day like Saturday was.

Standout beer: Evening Dew - hands down the best "session" IPA I have ever had, just insanely good

Knotted Root had the best IPAs that I drank in CO. Outer Range is awesome too. Both places are a must visit in my opinion.

I didn't like that beer for the longest time, but the tweaks they've made over the years have left us with something pretty fantastic. I'm sure there is/was a loyal audience that knows that one by name, but it's probably worthy of being called something else at this point.

Revisited Juicy Bits for the first time in probably about a year...

Seems like they dialed up the bitterness a little bit and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Maybe nothing has changed, but I suspect it might have. This was on draft fwiw

looking forward to my next one!

Not sure if anyone gets up to Fort Collins much these days, but I can’t recommend the Imperial Space Ghost aka Birthday Ghost from Equinox enough.

Its an 11% ABV version of the OG Space Ghost to celebrate their 11th year of existence.

I’m sure others have heard me dismiss high ABV, hoppy bois in the past, but this one doesn’t bog you down with the thick mouthfeel of a typical beer of this strength; instead its pretty damn crispy and has a lot of the same character as the OG.. though I might even like it more actually.

If you’re in the area, this is something that you really need to taste.

Also- it was kinda late the other night, but can we talk about how great a world we live in where one can simply roll into the local 7-11 after the beer store closes and just grab fresh Odell IPA from their cooler???!?

These really are unprecedented times :stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue:

what a time to be alive?

My local beer store has fallen off some lately but being able to buy Mtn Standard, Melvin Ipa and V2K Ranger at the King while picking up some charcoal and meat to lay down has been the feel good hit of the summer.

I still love that the Breakside IPAs we have on our shelves are less than 6 weeks old. In most cases they're less than 3, and that's been the case for about a year. Other than Comrade crowlers, they've been all I've needed on the hoppy front. I can't see that changing unless Dry Dock cans Fixation or Cannonball starts sending beer to the east side of town.

Oh yeah, it's probably worth mentioning that the recent hoppy beers from the B&B have actually been damn good. For a long time, that was one of their weaknesses. Man Beer and Hounds were great and the others were so-so. Not anymore.

Got a chance to try "Back in the Day" WCIPA out at the Casey taproom the other week and that was absolutely fantastic! I don't know if the brewers would see it this way, but to me it was probably the closest thing to RR Blind Pig that I've ever tasted, which is high praise from me.
