What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3226

What's up BAs! First time pouring up a Salvator and it's the first brew of the day. I'm liking it a lot and slaps at 7.9% abv. I should have probably got more of these. I normally don't buy more than a 6 pack when trying something new. Prost!

 

Drinking an old Luscious imperial stout from The Alchemist. Really good stuff, super roasty, toasted, dark, caramely, some maple toffee notes, dark mixed berry, chocolate, coffee, hints of vanilla, pretty nice even after 4+ years. Thinking a side of some wine cask whisky would pair well with this. Cheers all!

7/8 bottling - features Crystal, Citra, and Magnum hops - a classic; big with herbal pine and soft citrus - moderately bitter (65 IBUs, fwiw) - has a gentle sweetness that dries out as it airs out on the finish... Can't recall the last time I enjoyed it more than I am right now...

Other Half All Green Everything TIPA. The first time I had this beer, seven or eight years ago, I had received it via trade while living in L.A., and it fucked me up. I hadn't really ever drunk multiple TIPAs in a sitting, and I think I downed four the first time. I've had it a number of times since, some great batches, some mediocre, and this is leaning toward the former, although it's a little smoother than I prefer. At any rate, fresh OH has been popping up here in PA quite a bit, so I'm happy to take advantage.

I will be discussing plans with the Captains Daughter a bit later. For now its hazy. Our restaurant is in the bullseye and is actually over the water. Tomorrow we will be moving everything- food, equipment etc to higher ground- no easy task. Full moon high + 5ft, hurricane barrier closure +5ft, storm surge +5ft min. This is not looking good.
